Hey people,

Shortly i will be getting a complete respray and body kit fitted to my S13. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good paintshops in Townsville?

And if you would have any idea of an approximate cost for a complete respray that would be awesome! Or if you have had a complete respray about how much did you pay? I understand cost will be affected by colour, bodywork, time, etc. Just curious!

I will be going around to get more quotes, but just some idea of what i could possibly be paying would be great.

Any help would be sweet. Thanks!! :D

Just so you have a rough idea we charge around $3500-$4000 for a full respray on a Faclon sized car, yours being smaller would obviously be cheaper. What you have to look at is the Prep time, this is where most of the cost's are incured, in that we need to look at the condition of the body and the complexity of the bars etc and take into consideration how long it would take to get flat (stone chips etc) for a good finish. Black/Dark colours are always going to cost more as the panel work has to be dead flat before they are painted, they show up all imperfections and magnify them so they are more visable.

We should have our booth and the shop open by early August, if you want more specific info/price etc PM me.

See i'm thinking my car will need a far bit of prep as it has a widebody kit and is already in primer and has been sitting since at least late January in it. I'm guessing it would be best to remove it all. The body kit is of good quality so hopefully that shouldn't be too much of a problem to fit.

Plus i maybe looking at getting a custom colour. So i'm assuming that would make it more expensive again.

Pro team out at stuart quoted me $2500 for a colour change from red to metallic charcoal on my mx6. Thats with a couple of small dents pulled. The prob you will have is the time on the body kit.

Maybe you'll ned to slip armageddon a few cartons.

Watch out for Proteam, they are resposable for some of the dodge looking flamed VS's getting around town. One of the guys at work took his Mustang out there for a bit of reto work, cuple of dents pulled and a respray. It's been out there for about 6-7 months now and isn't even in primer! They said it would take about a month or two!

True. I didn't y they were good. Just that they are there. They are also responsible for all the really bright cars that come from drivers mart.

If armageddon is as good as his avatar looks go with him.

I forgot about those ugly coloured bright cars! I spose we can offer a bit more than others, we can paint your base coat then add what ever airbush work you want! Getting it all done at once and at the same shop works out cheaper too!

There's certainly mixed feelings about proteam. I had a couple of people tell me to get somewhere to fit the kit and get proteam to paint. But the last thing i want to do is go between shops. Thats just crazy and most likely would be more expensive.

I'm not going to get airbrushing. So are you painting cars atm Armageddon? Or waiting until you open the shop in August?

Considering how disorganised i have been so far, i probably might even still be looking for a paint shop in August.

We are painting atm, but we are trying to hold off till august so we can do it in the booth, I did mine at home in the garage but I would prefer the booth. We can also fit your kit if you want, just think August aint to far away.

If the kit/wide body gaurds are crap quaility there'd be a bit of labour there. Fitting the kit and gaurds your self can be cheaper to.

Yeah, i was thinking there would be a bit of labour in the guards especially. They were fitted by a bodyshop in Cairns so hopefully it wasnt done to shabby. The kit should be good quality, so hopefully that will fit nice.

Unfortunately i dont think my body kit fitting skills are up to scratch. :)

Gday,

I would to get a idea on how much it would cost to get a bare metal paint job on my green datsun 1600. So in the next few weeks maybe we could work something out. I am not looking at doing this in the near future but i would like to know how much it may set me back. There are a few dints on it and two creases on the rear section of the car.
