howdy boys & girls, first night on the forum so im just sayin g'day. im in tully but im up in cairns a fairbit visiting & running amock in my four wheel chariot. a little introduction to my weapon of choice, it a 07 BFMKII XR6T with the zf6spd g/box in a colour called flare. abit different but tidy. the exterior is completely stock, rims included just running appropriate rubber to try & hold the thing straight. interior has fords premium sound but i have it fitted with a poineer head unit, focal splits in the front doors, factory 6 X 9's in the back, rockford amp & rockford p2 sub. not to serious but does the job. the fun begins under the hood with a completely unopened engine (not even valve springs) but has an aps phase III kit, 60lb injectors & 4" dump, 3 1/2 cat & single 3 1/2 single back xforce exhaust. its tuned by svs & autotech. due to rescent surge problems it'll have a process west surge tank fitted early next week. its seen 395rwkw on the dyno but is settled just nicely on 375rwkw as my daily tune.

Attached File car_stuff_022.jpg 41.19K 31 downloads
(sorry changed the pic to show a different one on opening section. Was a shocker lol.)

just a few picks. have since got rid of the stickers on the side skirts to avoid any unneccassary attention & go with the whole real sleeper theme.

john.

hows the 6 speed cope with all the power????? no hassles???? one of the guys i worked with in mackay had a tornado ute and the zf 6 speed didnt like the hard launches it kept goin to limp home mode when u stab the throttle..... was a bit of a hopeless cause at the time.... i must say though the amount of sleeper xr6t's around u dunno who has what these days gotta love a family car with the nuts 2 back it up as long as ur doin straight line stuff
The Subaru Impreza is the Automotive equivalent of a decent prostitute.......They perform well, provide a good/thrilling ride but every f*ckers been there and done it already...

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

the 6spd is brilliant & never missed a beat. doin well i think saying that its got nearly 2000nm at the wheels. ive just recently had a program installed for the zf box which allows me to leave the line on boost so no problems there. as for cornering i think you might be surprised, from the bf's on they recieved a thing called dsc which makes it alot safer around the twisty stuff & even better with a set of whitelines on there. if you think us turbo boys are full of it maybe you should come for a run in or beside us. im sure you'll change your mind.

My 1L 3Cylinder had more torque than that at the wheels mate. Its just a matter of what gear and tyre size you have, pretty useless quoting it.

what you mean to say is i can make a dyno say my 1l 3cyl had more torque than that, while i think 2000 is a little high its not uncommon to see these things over 1300nm

without a doubt.
and he's not finished yet ohmy.gif

I have seen this car pull the torque figure's numerous time's on the dyno with my own eyes and have been in the car more times than i can remember.

Can we please not turn this into another XR6T bashing thread please.

hey i wasnt planning on a xr6t bashing.... last time i got in one every corner it tailed out a little 2 much for the liking..... it was a bf but it was a manual i know how quick they can be in a straight line but i never seen one doing really twisty stuff as yet..... keen 2 see how much better the whiteline gear goes as i sold alot of it for the sex-r's through the store in mackay

it was very sad thats all i can say lol
only did a 14 but i did it on the fresh mackay track and it was the first pass it did ever and it ran 118mph on street tyres and 17s has more potential once it is sorted out this isnt my thread though.....
