the fun begins again. last night we fitted a 5 point racing harness which should take all of 5mins to remove & refit when the time comes again to smack it down the track. the cars back up at SVS to get the battery moved to boot to get it ready for this weekend for us to fit the new plenum. what a mission thats been.

i ordered it 3wks ago but the manufacturer has been busy & being mostly handmade i didnt want to rush a good thing. powdercoating for the coldside piping was finished yesterday & to be sent today. if it had of been sent via supplier freight i wouldnt of got it til this time next weekend & being i organised the retune for next week & our workshop for this saturday it wouldnt of worked. thank god for air freight!!! it'll be here thursday definatly friday for us to pull the car apart on sat morning & get the thing goin really quick. hopefully the new gauge will be here soon & we can put it back down the track & have some fun. got to love abit of underhood bling. not very excited!!! dance3.gif drinks.gif

after fitting the plenum & getting it retuned by the boys at svs its been pulled up at 520rwhp or 387rwkw with 2psi less boost than prior to fitting it. cant wait to pick it up tomorrow & test it out. will take it back down the track soon to find out the story that the dyno cant tell.

Abit of an update after a couple of months of silence, after our last outing down the track (1/4) & having a pretty dramatic improvement in the ET still running abit off what its capable of & me just testing the waters as far as launching (still only 1.9 60ftr) the big taxi we've decided to step it up a notch & squeeze its neck so we can have a crack at the aus record for unopened eng, std zf g/box on pump fuel. This will happen in the next couple of weeks.

Not really expecting to get there or give it a real shake next time we go down but i'd like to have a go at it before winter to get the feel for it. Would be good to show the boys down south how its done given that the facilities aren't quite as what they have access to & the extra heat we have to contend with up here. Cant wait to see the results either way.

Many thanks have to go out to SVS (Leigh Holman & the boys) for there continuing support & patience in helping me get this far & for striving to always be better. I swear the car likes it up there more than at home. lol.

That things an animal man, congrats.

My dads got a BF MKII xr6t with the zf 6spd in silver, stock standard and man its got some go such good midrange torque (compared too my rb20det lol). Too the dude who said it wouldn't do the twisty stuff very well.... they f**king handle eh. Went up too Port on a spirited drive and it did very well. They handle very well for such big cars.

Thanks mate, theres nothing wrong with the way they handle. You just have to work out the limitations of it & go from there. The DSC & traction control make them a very controllable & safe car. Its a bonus that with nothing but bolt ons they can be very quick track & street cars.

it was very sad thats all i can say lol
only did a 14 but i did it on the fresh mackay track and it was the first pass it did ever and it ran 118mph on street tyres and 17s has more potential once it is sorted out this isnt my thread though.....

I ran against you in the monaro that night.... blew your doors off with a 12.9, the monaro hooked up well, was a fresh prepped track, and we were on a street tyres that night too mate...

You backed out of a race against a standrad vz ss ute with a cat back exhaust.

and against a vt gts which only mod it had was the rear resinator removed...

keep throwing your excuses timmy boy... i am sick of you talking shit about that damn starlett... other than that your alright... just enough with the starlett man

thanks mate, have tried to keep with that theme the whole way. If it wasnt for the rubber i found for the rear i would of been forced to go to a bigger aftermarket rim & then blow it. Wouldnt have it any otherway, for now anyway.

Ive got to keep the size ive got because the tyres i run have a very small range. As far as bang for buck i cant find anything even close.

I have thought of going to a 18 (234-245 they still make the tyre in that size) just to add abit of colour to the car but havent been able to justify it. Doesnt make it go any faster unfortunatly. Im thinking maybe a typhoon front end maybe a boot lip & then abit of handling mods incl my well & truly overdue brake upgrades. Found a nice set of rda gold slotted rotors that would look good in there & with a colour code to the calipers might just tidy it up abit. Its not really a show car at the moment more of a go car but i hope to have a nice balance in there eventually.

Well the car is sitting back up at its second home (SVS). The boys have almost finished the flush & service side of things. The new sump/filter assy for the zf had a hairline crack in it but luckily one of my mates ordered one at the same time & hadn't got to fitting it yet. He did me a massive favour & ran it up to cairns for me from inninfail.

The cars should be getting retuned Thursday/Friday all things going well. Will be interesting to see the results on the dyno. Cant wait to take it for a larap with a refreshed box & a bit more boost running through it. 1/4 mile here we come!!!

The boys at SVS got a chance to give the car a tickle up last week & the results were unreal. Still using 98ron they managed to get 579rwhp or a touch over 430rwkw at 19psi. Havent had a good chance to try it out yet because of the weather & the fact its just about due for some new shoe all round so im taking it easy but its bordering on scary & thats sitting in the drivers seat. Cant wait to try it when everything is favourable but will save full tilt for when we take it down the track. The highway trip i have done averaged between 8 - 9/100klm so its still very good when you look after it.

Its getting up there as one of the most powerful T's unopened, std box & turbo in aus now. Still more there if we went to race fuel but we're already strethching it to points untouched before. Very happy with its progress hopefully we can keep it in one piece long enough to give it all its got down the 1/4.

Thanks Leigh, Liz, Cam, Gecko & the other boys at SVS for your continuing support & help. You have created something that not to many of the big companies down south have managed.
