get a v8 lol, nah, why not slap that head u have on a blue bottom end, big solid cam, and a 650dp instead of 2 350's?,a m8 of mine had a similar setup in his lj torana and only managed a 14.9 quarter in it, also, how did u manage to bore out a 202ci an extra 41 cubes? ive heard of a stroked 202-236ci typo i suppose? :s

Mate's Torana.He lives in Wulguru.
Fot the record I doubt your overbore.Did you measure the bore size when you rebuilt the engine? You would have to have to order rings.

243 inch works ot to a 213thou overbore.I don't think so.

BTW - top marks for owning a classic.

if you want a 234 stroker you have to use a 186 bottom end. as i have turbo charged lj torana with a 186 bottom end with 202 dished pistons . pro stroke do a 234 bottom end for about $2000 plus freight .

this is my turboed 202 blue motor,650 holley, port job on the head, small cam,t04 turbo garret stratta kit 15psi,water/methonol injection its in a lj torana. went 14.0 100mph with a smaller carbie 2.7 open center diff 13'' street tyres. Not a bad setup if your planning of goin this way with your motor., but might not go quite as well in a heaver kingy.

I worked the tits off the 202 in my old torana...ended up doing 14.5 and that was it.
For the money I spent on it, I should have went a 308 and I would still have enough left over to keep the fridge stocked with beer for a month.

Good on you for working the ol 202. They are a tough little motor, easy to work on...but their head design really lets them down.

Best bang for buck 202 out there, is the EFI black motor. Made more power than the 253 stock for stock.
I ended up putting one in my torrie after the 14.5sec runs eventually killed it (spun a main bearing, and took the top off 2 pistons- they really dont like to rev).

The efi runs great, and you can even put the fuel injection on to the red motor you already have. Whole VK can be picked up running for no more than $500 and the mod is fairly easy to do.

The black motor head flows better as its a 12port and not the 9 port....and you wont have any problems with extractors fouling with the amount of room you will have in your kingy. You also get the bonus addition of an electronic dizzy and power steering out of the VK. If your interested in the mod google sammy old holden EFI as he has done the mods on heaps of holdens. Their is also a great wiring diagram and step by step install guide.

Hi Lozza I have a torana lc speedway car with a 179 with enderle mechanial injection on meth which makes 181 rwhp at 7000 my previous motor was a 234 which went 230 rwhp on same setup I have now fitted a strata 6 turbo to chase the v8 speedway cars I have so many 6 cylinder combinations here to try. I stuffed my stroker when car turned in hard at Gladstone & went past the 6500 rpm limiter & the telltale said 8700 rpm it bent the crank in three places on the mains.

Basically you want a blue bottom end and rods, good compression, big cam, good (not necessarily a lot) of head work, HEI and heaps of air and fuel, for example triple carbs!

Here's couple of handy articles for all those interested in quick old sixes...
