One of the best brand of speakers avaliable. Save a bit more and get your hands on a set of 6.5" polyglass splits, they go for around $400-450 and are a very good speaker.

yeah focal is good. but there is always something better....lol

i have the three way splits and the two way 6x9's with the coaxil

i did have the 6x9 access ones. and they went pretty hard didnt like heaps of power deffently for lower powered amps. my 6x9's now however love the power. i have broken them but.......my fault as i dropped one and broke the tweeter post of....glued it back on and the other one was broken by my kidlet. when i sell my stuff and get new stuff i wont be getting any component stuff. all split as i hate having the tweeter posts breaking. both of my focal have done this. thats my only beef with them.
my exhaust isnt loud at all, but fark it sounds good bouncing of the limiter

All depends on how much you want to spend man, if you have more buy some K2P 6.5" splits like i have in the S14, they are SQ speakers and i havent had one person listen to them and not love them. They are the best value for the $$ in the price range hands down ( they compete with alpine F1 etc. ) and they are a LOT cheaper. Other options are DLS, Alpine Type X, etc. but i dont think you will match Focal quality in the price range you are looking at. Just dont skimp and buy the access ones, they are good but the tweeters are a bit harsh, go for the Polyglass ones as i mentioned earlier and try to get some with the TN52 tweeter in them as this is the best tweeter around in the Focals unless you go berilium etc.

Did you mean to say they compete with Type X or F#1 Status. Just wondering cos I can hear a huge difference between them. Then again theres two types of F#1 Status components- SPX-Z15M 2-ways ( RRP $1599) and the SPX-Z18T 3-way ($3999) which are one of the best sets of 3-way components I have ever heard. The K2 power series are awesome and are not that expensive, but I definately agree with Noel about the Access range. Have seen some much better speakers for the same price. Some other good brands for speakers are MB Quart, Boston, Morel, JL Audio. Depends what kind of sound your after.

Yeah dude i meant the 2 way cheaper F1 status. The 3 ways would be in Utopia territory maybe even berilium teritory.

Yeap i agree on the other brands you mention, they are all good SQ for sure.

Another thing that is very important Peachey is the type of amp you use to run these speakers, i use rockford amps but any other high end will give you good SQ. I kept my amps running 4 ohms and they still run more power into the speakers ( which is a good thing, underpowering causes unecessary heat and can damage the voice coil ) whilst keeping everything very efficient and cool running.

Cheap amps might make good power but it will be at 2 ohms or less and they genarally have a very unefficient operation and can distort good speakers.

Alpine amps are top notch as well. I wouldnt buy anything other than phoenix gold, Alpine or Rockford for amps. Unless you want distortion :P

yeh checked and these ones do have TN52 tweeters, seperate value of $170 a pair just for tweeters. dam expensive. and i am getting the 165V1 for the front and back, ill just be putting a peice of MDF over the 6x9" hole and mounting the 6.5" speakers there with the tweeter beside them.

Sounds like a top plan, one thing i will add, with the TN52`s, in the crossover i set my tweeter attentuation to -2db, you will find any more than this will make them "zing" a bit to much, they are still excellent even at 0db but i find them a lot nicer to listen to on -2db.

hey, im just wondering if there is anything attractive that i can use to cover a old 6" speaker hole. im thinking of putting my 6.5" up the front of the door for a better sound and if there is a "FORD" or "Focal" thing i can cover the old hole that would be good.
