I apologise for the very late notice in posting these event details, it seems while the rest of NQ is underwater the Herberton track is in quite good condition, however the final decision to run the event due to weather was made in the last couple of days. Should be good off road racing!
Remember all spectators welcome to check out the action
cheers
Dave

The 2day Herberton Karnacross has been run and won!
The weekend was a dry, dusty, cool time. All drivers and officials had a
great time. There was plenty of dust and lots of slippery grass to make the
tracks far more interesting than usual. It would seem Corollas are the car
of the moment with 3 racing on the weekend. However it was the Dato that won
the day.
Racing started at about 2pm on Saturday with two tracks being used - the
pits and the southern track. With no accidents and only minor repairs needed
the field had plenty of runs throughout the two days. The overnight camping
was again a highlight with the clear skies making for a magical display.
However, the night was cooler than expected with all attending commenting on
the fact must remember to bring a jumper every time we race in Herberton.
Next racing is in Mareeba on the 22nd March with a working bee the day
before to get the track ready. All welcome - spectators free. Racing from
about 9am on Sunday.

It was an awesome weekend, great close racing and good food, a huge thanks to Kingy for his special 'fat free' fried eggs brekky - YUMMO.
Keep posted guys next event is March 22nd at Mareeba Speedway, with a working bee on the 21st to get the track up to scratch, I will update everyone when more details come to hand.

ohbaby- could be a good idea for some stock 15's if you wanna play, despite what everyone says the track was quite smooth and clean after the heavy rains, not a bad AWD setup, traction aplenty! Yes coilovers a definate advantage.
Cheers-
Dave

Herberton is a great venue. tight through the trees then opening up. My oldies live directly accross the road and always walk over to check it out. The old man used to race stock cars there back in the 80s and nothings really change to the venue since then. I had a look over steve's Bluebird the other week and he definatly keeps it imaculate for a dirt car.
I'm trying to find another car for the 4 round Khanna cross NQ series coming up but i think i'm gonna run outta time. And i think one of the dates clashes with the Mt Stuart Rally sprint. A mate and i were thinking if I bought a car and left it in Herberton at my olds we could both race it there and Mareba then we'd use his car in Charters and airlie. Save towin 2 cars everywhere.

Keep the picks of the events coming though. Good work.

Thanks evocoop will def keep the piccies coming, should be some good gopro video being added as soon as next event is finished - I'm hearing you on the towing cars bizo, gets to be a bit of a hassel after a while, and yes, Curlys Bluebird is quite the machine!!!!
Also mate, Round 1 of NQKC series has been delayed to June 20/21 because of the double booking with the Mt Stuart sprint , gives you a little more time to find a car.
Cheers - and dont forget MAREEBA SPEEDWAY TOMORROW 8.30AM !!!
