I have found some of these outcomes are of unrealistic values, either MPH or VEHICLE weight is incorrect.
MATT 180 SX
Either vehicle mass or mph not correct.
Using your specs gives me:
HP - 230
LBS- 2640
MPH- 105
E.T.- 12.4
Is your car really that light.
DUS 12
HP - 500
LBS- 4400
MPH- 117
E.T - 11.25
I Know the BA FALCONS are heavy but are you sure yours is 2 tonnes.
Check in your owners manual under specifications and check weights and capacities, will have your vehicle mass listed.
DION
HP - 387
LBS- 3540
MPH- 112.7
E.T. - 11.65
This is a perfect example of accurate input data, true inputs with realistic outcome.
DION's info he gave me was as follows:
HP - ?
LBS - 3540
MPH -112.7
E.T. - 11.90
What HP does your FALCON make DION.
DAN
HP - 171.6
LBS- 3086
MPH- 93
E.T. - 13.92
Are you sure about vehicle weight DAN, if it is this weight then your mph is inacurate,
hard for me to quess as i have read some of these posts stating that the MPH figures given at TOWNSVILLE supplied by their equipment wasnt accurate "stock V6's pulling low E.T's with silly mph etc, etc.
Refer WAZZ's posts.
200SXXX
HP - 200
LBS- 3168
MPH- 93.5
E.T - 13.8
NAT's SKYLINE
HP - 520
LBS- 3190
MPH- 129
E.T.- 10.31
As you can see by the couple of examples i have shown,if the supplied input data is incorrect, the end result will be inaccurate.
If unsure of vehicle mass, i dont know if you are still able to do so,but i used to go to the CAIRNS DUMP and drive onto their weigh bridge and get out to check true vehicle mass.
I am not sure if there are any other weigh bridges around CAIRNS that you can use.
DAVE.

most s13 Silvia`s/180sx`s are about 2800 lb`s Dave. S14/S15 around 2900lb`s.

Can you work mine out off HP and vehicle weight without MPH? Im not to keen on drags but it would be interesting to see what you come up with, the tool i use says it should run 12.6 @ 107mph fully loaded with all stereo and myself in it.

Specs are:

Vehicle weight: 3080lb`s ( 1400kg, which includes myself )

Flywheel HP around 350HP ( 200rwKW ) being conservative

Dave, July last year at Holmans dyno day, it did 306 rwhp.
This year at Cairns Leading Auto dyno day, it did 274 rwhp.
Is the HP figure you quoted at the flywheel?

That right. Gotta give racing weight, and not something out of a book either. Wack it on the weight bridge with fuel and YOU in it, and then the facts are there to work with.

lts seems like everyones is using the HP figures off there dyno sheets because they've had it on a chassis dyno , a chassis dyno is a tuning tool and if use properly very good at it but its not true engine HP , what you need to work this out is the MPH your car runs over the 1/4 mile and its true weight with you in it on the day and then you can calcuate its true HP , its a mathematical equation - scientific calculation - slide rule - Morso calculator - what ever you want to call it , because to move a certain weight to a determined point (1/4 mile) from a standing start for the given MPH when you cross the finish line it takes "X" amount of HP to do it , not a presumption like a chassis dyno gives and if you have had the engine on a engine dyno and know its true HP and the caculator says it should run "X" for the ET and it doesn't that mean you need to look at the car set up because something is wrong . Dont worry there are a lot of people who are disappointed when they find out they havent got the HP they been bragging about !

P.S. l've read on here that they are usless , not accurate , doesn't work etc , a Morso calculator is a scientific slide rule , its accurate in working out the HP when it knows the true weight , the distance (1/4 mile) and MPH . lt doesn't care weather is a 2wd , 4wd or Fwd its still mass , distance and speed , the trouble is people dont like the figures they give , they thought they had more power than it really shows because the dyno sheet there show off says so .

no more guessing of power and times it will run.. either run the f**king thing down the strip or run it up on a dyno.. or shut up.

Was the question "is a MOROSO calculator HP, flywheel or rear wheel HP?" answered?

moroso slide rule is flywheel hp, it also gives a power to weight calc as well which would need to have flywheel hp to show that accurately.

MOROSO themselves will tell you its RWHP

IMO MOROSO is chassis & areodynamic sensitive, thats where its inaccuracy lays. But a great tool, I have a number of Quality desktop dynos & Drag racing programs, & let me tell you its damn close, IF FEED IT THE CORRECT FIGURES like....... DK said

Altereds will out ET there MPH because of there wieght
10" converters will out MPH there ET because of the greater effieciency, IE if you run 120 mph & only 12.00 your POTENTIAL ET could be as good as 11.00, but the converter isnt allowing the vehicle to acceletrate to it fullest potential. Then the chassis becomes the final player, when heavy vehicles (over 3000lbs) will out ET there MPH.
Loose RACE or in effeicent converters will also give you inaccurate results on a chassis dyno, especially if the operator doesnt know how to treat them.

MOROSO is a great guideline if everyone uses it together to calculate the figures
as are dyno's, if everyone uses the same one.

Im sure there a a few guys on here who have run there Engines on exlusive ENGINE DYNO'S & after fitting the engine to find it looses a 100hp at the track, when looking at the MOROSO.
This is not un common
