A friend has just started a new Cairns business specialising in modifying most consoles - wii, ps2, DS and XBOX 360.

*edit* Currently awaiting stock. Will repost link when all is up and running.

Any chance of modding a DSi? I picked it up yesterday and I think it needs a good old hack!

Can someone explain what actually happens when someone mods your console? For some reason im really worried about the red ring of death on my xbox 360, would someone modding it fix all the causes to prevent? Or should i wait til it happens n get it repaired?

The guys going to think here's another kid using a fake ID or here's McLovin, the 25 year old Hawaiian organ donor. So what's it going to be? I am McLovin. No your not. No one's McLovin, McLovin's never existed because that's a made up, dumb, f**king fairy tale name you f**k

LOL! I remember a few months back I was ringing around to ask if anyone could mod a PS2 OR if they knew someone who could... yeah... I got ALOT of people basically hanging up on me... just because I wanted the hacked version of Guitar Hero cause it actually had songs WORTH playing on it!

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

A MAJOR problem the Xbox 360s have.... There are 80 main faults (so i was told) and anyone of them can cause red lights to show instead of the normal greeny yellow lights when its running fine. Alot of people say it's cos of overheating, but thats only 1 of the 80 problems. Just hope that if it ever happens that your still within your warranty.

Also, do not buy the intercooler that goes on the back of it. Causes a heap more problems then it helps. All i did was go to Sams Warehouse and bout a $16 pedestal fan and whenever i play the xbox i turn that on. It also helps to lie it on its side so i read

lying it on its side also stops the cd from falling out of the slot.. have seen it happen to xboxes and playstations alike.. when i sent my 360 away to be fixed, it came back with a new fan on it.. in roars now compared to the old one

Red Ring of Death is covered under warranty for a period of 3 years from date of purchase.

Most Red Ring failures are to do with the GPU and its solder contacts failing, usually irreversible, I do suspect that during the last few update, MS has changed the error codes from other problems that used to show RROD but now show two red lights or another altogether, this avoids having such a return rate.. speaking of which is around 30%. And there was no recall either, just case by case basis. Unfortunately its cheap Chinese made crap. The real money for MS is in the add-on crap like controllers ($15 to manufacture sell for $55-70) and web cams guitars drum kits all that sort of crap. The x box really won "screw the consumer" award for the last half of this century. You only get what you pay for.

You can buy the new arcade "jasper" X box for about 299, the jaspers are more reliable and don't sound like a Concorde taking off in your lounge room.

The intercooler had a brilliant idea with all the connection options for it, it was really let down by the cheap shit fans in it, these slowed down and actually blocked heat from escaping. If your keen, dismantle it right down to the pcb, and just connect it in the back as per normal. Its all DC power so virtually harmless.

---Does your mate have any spare ROM's? and does he install them? My mate has a unit with a dead drive.
