their obviously getting away with a lot here, in lieu of cracking down on hoons in anti-terrorism fashion, we enthusiasts are becoming the terrorized.
personally I'm getting sick of it, and it wont be long before more and more people start to snap, and really make a mincer of things with all the negative treatment.

Only those who risk going too far, can ultimately find out how far one can go.

That is exactly right. The thread would turn into a shit fight, i know for a fact that cops have double standards, some turn a blind eye and others pineapple you, it is unfortunatly a problem that comes with having a modified car in queensland, the only way to do it is when (before doing it) modifying get access to all available information reguarding the type of modification that is being performed.
Even local cops do not know it all, no cop knows it all but traffic police are out there for one thing and that is to apparently get the unsafe cars off the road, but most of the time fines and defecting will be used as a revenue raising excercise.
f**k THE POLICE!! AND THERE CHILDISH APPROACH!, if they are serious they will be willing to communicate with the car scene rather then just punish EVERYONE with a non standard car, it has been happening more and more and there is nothing the truely innocent people can do.

In my opinion how you are suggesting is ideal, maybe if it was a strictly spam free thread with only links reguarding automotive mods and the like, anyone knows that 'HEAR SAY' is the biggest problem, having people posting up there mates mates mates info would not be on.

Would there be a few people interested in getting such a collection of links & data together and perhaps putting it all in one thread to make it easy reference?
If they are links, and cut & pasted sections from valid websites, it should cut the infighting and bulls**** down a fair bit..
I know i've got a reasonable amount bookmarked & stored around the harddrive.. If there are a few other people interested, i'll make an effort to sort through it and post it somewhere..

as I understand... people were being bullied by the police, arent they supposed to be calm and composed when dealing with the public, and converse in a respectable manner?
I witnessed plenty of the opposite on the day.

they have a thread in there that is upkept by a qld transport officer/police officer and u ask a question and they reply in good time.....

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

Thats too hard.. I mean you need to actually READ what the rules are first.. Then make the car suit.. Its just easier to do it wrong, get defected, and bitch & moan about getting the defect.
Given the cost of a defect, and the cost of a mod plate... I know which is easier & cheaper!
I'll clean up all my modification notes, and post them for people who are interested in the next week.. might make it easier for those who think they know all to learn what the actual rules say rather than relying on info from somebodys friend of a friend who knows somebody...
Its not hard to build a legal performance car... but requires some thinking first.. and thats what stops a lot of people!

you boys are missing the point entirely.
I'm talking about the police attitude when dealing with enthusiasts, such as acting like *swear filters own me*, and talking to you with the verbal equivalent of taking a shit on your foot.
this threads purpose has nothing to do with adr's, it's abusive police tactics that are under discussion.
