Mt Stuart Tarmac Rally sprint is on this weekend. It's now an annual event attracting some big dollar cars from around the country that will compete in 75 competive Kms over 2 days of competition.
The course is the full length of the Mt Stuart Lookout road run 10 times and then times added up as per any normal rally you may have seen. We're running under full tarmac rally rules set by CAMS which means full logbooked and rollcageed rally cars, Navigators and no tyre barricads like the regular short course hillclimb.
We have 15 entrys ranging from a Skelta G force (targa Tas top 10 in modern class) to a '69 tuscan TVR to datun 180bs to R35 GTR to evo 3s and 9s and rx7s.
I'm gonna chuck my GTR into the mix to make up the numbers aswell.
The pit area and start line is in the same area as our regular hillclimb series and there'll be food and drinks there for sale.
Attached are the Entry list and sup regs for a better understanding of the rules and details about the event

So come out sat or sunday, support the locals and show our sponsors that people are supporting it so we can keep running this iconic event in the future. See you there

I spread a load of deco around your pit area on Sunday to make it a little more pleasant for you blokes.
Also saw working bee crew there on Saturday doing mowing, whipper snipping etc.

Na I think the GTR place 22nd outright. Had some mechanical gremlins show up for them so they lost some time to that and it was their first try at Targa. The Skelta placed 8th outright there and would have had a better finish if not for the rain on the last day.

If you click on the link in my Sig it'll take you to the TCAC web site and on the bottom of the home page is a you tube vid from inside an RX7 from last year. One of his better runs in the low 4min 30s from memory. very fast for a 2 wheel drive.

For racing or for marshaling?
With the standard cams license you get an intrum number (piece of paper) to use found on the bottom of the form when filling it out, that gets used until the passbook gets sent out. You don't have this slip of paper?

Well the rocket made it through scrutineering ok. Just had to fill a hole in the fire wall where the ac used to be but otherwise all legit. Haed honsho scrutineer said it was a very nicely built car so i was happy to hear that from a bloke that scrutinizes ARC cars for a living. It's making about 350rwkw and thats heaps for up the hill so we've left it at that.
Just done an oil change and put all the stickers in and it's ready to race in the morning.
