What a fantastic day of racing we had. With almost 60 nominations and plenty of spectators we are very happy with the way the day and night came together.
Nominations were up but spectator numbers were a bit down which we expected. There were a lot of other events planned for the weekend which would have taken a lot of numbers away but still we were happy with the turnout.
I will post all racers times this week.
This was the first time we used our Race America timing system and there were still a lot of teething issues to sort out. It appeared that the system was not allowing racers to deep stage and if they did their times were not being recorded. Another thing was the the speeds were being displayed by km not miles per hour. We hope to have all these little things fine tuned by the next meeting.
Thanks to everyone who showed patience and worked with us while we were trying to get these issues sorted.
Special thanks must go to Rod, the best starter known and Craig who are both from the Townsville Strip. Our meets always run extra smooth with the help of these guys. Thanks also goes to Stiffy from Splinter Effect who is our official announcer. "Sweetest voice of the day".
