cars down the straight were amazing but no hill. The hill behind the pits has the xxxx chicane, two big screens, and not far from the xxxx retreat trailer! This is in the centre of the track so you will have to cross an overpass.

I am in the s11 grandstand, no free beer though

I would have liked to have seen more viewing mounds, higher and larger.
I dont think the track is very viewer friendly at all .
Only about 50,000 spectators on Friday.
Will be double that today, and will be difficult to see much 3 deep at the fence.
No where to get enough height to take photos over the top of the fence either.

is it a good idea to bring a chair? or is everyone just sitting on the ground?

Only those who risk going too far, can ultimately find out how far one can go.

Rod, call me 0407024533 if you want to take some pics from Stand S11 sometime tomorrow, maybe during qualifying?
You prob zoom over the wire fence.

If you get in early and have a vodafone mobile you can get 30min in the vodafone tent, register near the xxxx retreat.

Speaking of the xxxx retreat, made it in there for an hour today, very nice upstairs.

Plenty of beer, cars and promo girls today. Actually thought I was Georgie from this forum all dressed up as a supercheap girl, but I was too shy to say hello.

Very embarrasing to be a ford fan, and seeing all the old gt's, torana's etc doing a lap and then the falcon coupe broke down and needed to be towed off the track sad.gif

Def bring a chair! We just got home to Ingham and had an excellent day. They know what they are doing this mob. The point about the lack of mounds and hieght is true so maybe that will be done for next year. If you want a good spot tomorrow be early and find a spot across from a big screen, that is a good idea for sure. We sat near the rail station and found it very comfy, food, toilets etc just 1 minute away.

wow those super cars are an eye opener. just the increadible speed along the main straight and the noise.... was awesome.
and the brutes were good to watch to. the racing was great

but here are the let downs.
1. as said, unless you were in a grand stand you had bugger all places to watch
2. the first band that played in the after race entertainment was pathetic... if i could think of a more discusting word than that id use it but in short they were just appalling.
3. the pot bellez were a joke. i swear if that wanker had of said fookin one more time i was gonna go up on stage and snap him one. what a bunch of low class tossers. the only thing that they had in their favour was that mc chick, she was actually very tallented

in future id suggest if theyre chasing good aussie bands to play as after race entertainment possibly grinspoon or even sneaky sound system... just never again the pot bellez.

saving grace.... eskimo joe were epic. and im not even an eskimo joe fan, they were great to watch live and definatly made the wait to watch them worth it.

will definatly secure myself some grand stand seats or snavel myself a corporate box seat next year to make the most of it. looking forward to heading back tomorrow and seeing the brutes and v8s again

We sat on the mound inside the track, next to the pit building. Just under the big screen, you can see over the fence.

+1 for S11. I was right up the back on the last row in front of the auzcoat civil box.

Lowndsey drifting was awesome! Sounded awesome hearing him gas it around the bend. He'd have to be one of teh most talented drivers in the field.

If you don't read this in every thread. I am probably banned.

the sitting mounds need to be abit steeper and higher and no chairs allowed!!!
if everyone sat on their butts on the grass it would be great.

LOL, we must have all been in the top row of S11 as so was I. Had shade nearly all day, great breeze from under the grandstand. great view looking over the wire fence at the supercars on two wheels as they launched off the ripple strip.
