Picking Turbos? and VG30DETT Boost?

Keeping its original VG30DETT but im curious as to the boost the stock turbos can put out?
THis however leads me to a question that probably is simple to most car enthusiasts but something i am yet to learn.
How do you pick the right Turbo for your car? Im sure it depends on the additional power you want for your car and also how deep your pockets are. But it must get to a point where you can go too far.
Some wisdom would be awesome!

A 300zx enthusiest/owner will have to confirm this for me but im 99% sure the engine needs to come out to replace the turbos. If you cant do this yourself be prepered to spend $$$

i own a 90 nissan 300zx twin turbo v6. they are awesome.. but dont take it to a mechanic, or be prepared to get ripped off.. check out the forum and do it your self..
i have currently blown both turbos and yes you have to remove the engine to replace them. with the stock turbos i wouldnt go past 17psi.. and i wouldnt leave it there for that long as the turbos are 20 year old now days..
when it comes to replacing them i'm changing them with a set of gt28r or the 2560 i think they call them.. very nice but need a full custom set up to change them. if you going to change the turbos and pull the motor you might as well go all out and buy the half decent stuff so it lasts..
if you wanna know more about the 300zx and there turbos, pm me and i'll give you my number to chat.. or even come round and see a motor come out first hand?

yes its an engine out job which is an easier affair than trying to do it while in car.
and the easiest way for me to do the engines are to drop the whole k Frame and take it out form under the car on a hoist (yes im lazy but speed is the key), working slow sinking piss and having all the correct parts and tools and hoping no studs break e.t.c then its an 8 hour affair.. budget about 12 to 14 hours when shit breaks or you dont have the correct tools
if your doing an upgrade first stop is the S15 BB turbo (GT2560r, or known to many as a GT28r), u cant go wrong and its a good upgrade for the price. then u can go up from there, trust TD05, GT2871 (0.64ar housing)., GT2876r (0.64ar housing) e.t.c depdending how much lag you want and if you want it to be a dyno queen... some more good reading would be www.twinturbo.net.. the sepoos are right up on it

That's a bit unfair. You won't get ripped off (although I guess that depends on which mechanic you go to), but it will cost you a fortune because there's a shed load of work involved....
