What an epic weekend!!!! and great at the same time.

Firstly a big congratulation's to Stuart and NQMP for not only the test and tune day but for getting a sprint series event underway for all the cairns car enthusiasts, a lot of people are very excited about competing and being involved with this event in the future. For a first 'test' event all went well and was a great day and all involved, competitors and organizers should be very proud with themselves.

Had a bit of drama on the last of the timed laps, an oil line ruptured and had an engine fire which was promptly put out (re: cams fire extinguisher in car) causing fairly minor damage but none the less not drivable home. So I would like give a huge thanks to Christian (200sxxx) Rob, and Wozz for helping me out of this situation. Christian not only had to trailer his car home but then offered to come back up and get my car and use his garage to work on the car to get me going again. Christian and I with Wozz leading the way spent the day sorting out the problem and with Wozz running me all around town getting new lines and fluid etc I can't credit them enough for there help. True car enthusiasts with the right attitude.

So fellas thanks Heaps. :D

Hey Ben. How do you reckon Mako compares to Sun City? As in, Do you reckon it's more hectic and stuff. When i drove around it the other week i kinda thought there would be a lot more full thottle to big brake aplications then Townsville. Sun city seems to require a bit of feel and touch with that off camber sweeping left hander and double apex corners. Mako to me looked like it was pretty much point and shoot then brake hard. Also how do the grip levels compare?

Hi Ya coop,
Grip level I found to be very good but like you say there are a lot of tight corners so your probably not accelerating through the tighter ones as much as sun city and more on the gas as your pointing more straight but turn in grip is good but would also help with a bit of clear up of debris. It is quite a complex course but also fairly predictable unlike sun city with the camber and dips on the race line, more gear changes and seams much longer (not sure of distance) Sun city I can get away with no first with a bit of lag on the hairpin (will be using 1st more next year) but Mako need first on at least three corners to pull out on boost. First sweeping right into second double apex corner is very fast and a great combo along with the last two before coming back onto the straight so there is a great mix I believe. So while defiantly being more hectic it is a more predictable course.

took all the lines off and went to ENZED made up all knew water + oil line becuase the water lines didnt look to crash hot either
Was cheaper and has better lines then getting one already made from traders
The spare lines I had were slightly diferent length and didnt have right angled conecters

I forgot how much of a prick it was working on low mount turbos, all went well once wazz turned up with his fancy tools and knack for getting shit undone

enzed.. not pirtek lol

Looking at it I was thinking they both could do with a bit of improvement.

Will definitely be trying to tighten up the second half of the track next time. corners 1-5 good ....6-9 improvement needed.

and the Miss's is working on her videoing for next time. ;)
