I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

Paperwork has been lodged with CAMS for approval and we are awaiting a reply. Hopefully we will hear something this week.
A web page is nearing completition and will be online shortly.
We have had a lot of good interest from racers with a good variety of cars. EVO's, Skyline GTR's, Skylines, Silvias, AE86's, Carolla's, 1600 Datto, 1973 Porsche 914/6 GT and a couple of other Porsches, a 348 Ferrari could be coming as well.
Any questions? Pls ask.

Last night we held the FNQMC monthly meeting.
The President of FNQMC has been in contact with CAMS on numerous occasions over the past 2 weeks to get someone up here to inspect the track. So far, we have been approved to race but just need to wait for the inspection. Frustrating, but we just have to be patient.
CAMS has also stated that we need to have an ambulance and paramedic on site for the day in case of an accident, and spectator safety. So I'm organising this as well.
Web site is now online
www.nqmp.com.au
This will be regularly updated and it will eventually have all application forms and event info and regulations.
The 1st race is still expected to be in November. Stay tuned.

And as far as the track inspection goes, Cams are notorisly slow for that. We've been trying to get our extended hillclimb course inspected for quite a while now but with no luck as yet. There is a bit of a backlash agianst CAMS in certain circles at the moment.
Have you considered trying to run it through someone else.
Alot of the southern clubs have switched over to AASA for their event insurance now and reaping the benifits of more flexibility.
Might be worth checking out.

We've got a good variety of cars on the driver's list so it should be a good meet. We are still planning the first race in November, stay tuned.

Warren, the CAMS official came up and inspected the track yesterday and all went well. He was very impressed with the facilities.
Andrew (FNQMSC) and I now have to put together our submission to CAMS along with his report and picks. He said it usually takes 2-3 weeks for CAMS to clear the event.
I ran the EVO around the track to see what we have to work with. Good speed bits with some tight hairpins. Handling will be the key, even for us EVO drivers.
I did a 1m14sec lap. So we will be running 4 laps, and probably 4-5 runs with a shoot out at the end. We are allowed to run 2 cars on the track so we may be able to allow up to 40 entries.
Picks will be uploaded to the web site gallery soon. Go to www.nqmp.com.au
