I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

I had a pretty good read of the website and I'm struggling to see where it says anywhere there that only these limos may do formals?

As far as I can see, the introduction of SPL's allows a wider variety of car (due to age) to be able to apply for a limo licence, not restricting only someone with a limo licence to be able to drop someone at their formal.

There is more but I do not know were. It has more to do with Public transport vehicles with both rego and Insurance not offering coverage doing this type of event.

I had a bit of a search through everything and previously have looked in the TORUM Acts but couldnt find anything. Not saying you're wrong I just like reading this sort of thing since it pretty much relates to my job.

lf you do it at "no charge" it is not illegal , the problem was their were a few scumbags charging people for using there cars and this is what started the limo's whinging , dont take any money and its fine and it also must be a full registed car , not club rego because its not a sanctioned club event so it would be illegal and you could go for that .

Hey was just on another car forum and saw they had a good thread offering school kids going to their formal
cars they can go in. So anyway if you have a car maybe something you think people would want to go in
post a pic up for them to see and tell them how much you want for taking them their etc..

Ohhh well ill go first not the best car but people might wanna go in it, it's loud lol

mine is always available for formals etc... i love doing them, but have to admit i always ask for a minimal amount to cover fuel and rum costs! Last one i did was 50 bucks. I don't think that's unreasonable for an hours worth of driving (to and from home). Wedding pic attached that i did for a mate recently in Cairns. In fact, 2 weddings and a formal are the only 3 times i've taken her out pretty much in the last 5 or 6 months! I think if everyone used "official" limo's, the drop off time would be about 4 hours due to lack of numbers in Cairns. i'm sure the ville would be the same?

You can have muscle cars at the wedding, but you can't pay them for service.. They are trying to stop people providing a limo/hire car service without having licences...

But there is nothing stopping you dropping off a few cartons for a BBQ the week before hand.. :P

There is also the insurance and rego to consider, as you will not have insurance cover and no business rego.

Insurance cover for what? Having a $50 dollar note in your wallet cannot be proof that you were paid. Plus it would just be like giving someone a lift to work in a sense, normal driving insurance would cover any problems.

I know this would suck for limo drivers and the likes, but I can't stand that the DOT wants to stop people from going in whatever car they like. It's not like people are paying people $300+ to drop them to a formal, its mostly favours done with a bit of fuel money

The guys going to think here's another kid using a fake ID or here's McLovin, the 25 year old Hawaiian organ donor. So what's it going to be? I am McLovin. No your not. No one's McLovin, McLovin's never existed because that's a made up, dumb, f**king fairy tale name you f**k

No one wants do go in a limo because they have been done since Jesus was a baby . There is no way would be able get done ffs it's like getting a lift like Sam said no way it could be policed they might as well start fining people in capital cities for car pooling and chipping in money exactly the same as what you are say it's bullsh!t
If your not goin fast or sideways it ain't fun thats why i love my spool!
