Off the what?
Wouldnt this be exactly the same as installing any other tacho?

The sender should be attached to the negative on the coil, the power to the constant power, accessories/ign to accessories/ign (ignition) power, illumination to illumination power. That should be it, if you cant find these powers just ask. Youll need a test light.

nah, its because my car doesn't have a distribution block. the ignition system is based individually on the 4 plugs.

do you know if you can hook the tach wire off just one of the coil packs?

Find an ECU pinout either on the internet or in a wiring book for your car, there should a tacho pulse wire there for the models that came out with a tacho, then simply join the wires =]

I know what you mean, I'm having a similiar issue trying to get my stock tacho to work on the Microtech computer with 4 coils running...worked with the distributor but not with the 4 coil packs.

I have had an idea, if you run 4 separate ones from the negative on each coil to the tacho, that would give you the correct reading? if you only go to one you will only get a quarter of the reading I found that out...

Hope it helps!

mate, do a search on the net for how to hook one up on a hyundai excel. My mate had the same issue with his excel back in the day due to the lack of a distributor. A auto sparky in brisbane worked it out, and excels were everywhere so should be some info on the web.
