CAMS has made their approval for us to use the Makotrac for a Sprint Series so now we can officially release race dates.

April 18th
June 13th
August 8th
Sept 12th
Nov 14th

We will also have a driver training day at the end of March. This will be limited to 15 people as we will only have a half day hire of the track. This will give drivers the opportunity to practice braking, acceleration, throttle control and driving line. Cost will be $100ea. Please drop me a line if you're interested.

The nqmp web site calender will also be updated soon.

Stuart
Silver EVO 8 MR, BC Coilovers, Whiteline sway bar, Blitz exhaust, Ralliart ECU, HKS EVC-S on 22psi.

I'd be keen for a training day. Constructive criticism is always good. Plus, more track time the better!

A flyer/document that can be printed out with dates & other info like licence/ dress/ scrutineering requirements would be fantastic.

Seems like a lot of people have project cars that never get finished. It doesn't take that long to build a car - pull your finger out! :P

All the info you seek is on the web site. You can print anything from there that you need. Print advertising is dead money.

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

Please keep on topic guys. Please don't use this thread as a way to have goes at each other. I hope we can all work together to make this series successful and a place people can finally put their cars on a track and use this thread as a way for people to learn about racing and help people to become involved.

Fugly; no plans for flyers at the moment, we will just have something in the paper and an announcement on the radio later. Keep an eye on the website for all info. For you blokes who are now members of FNQ you are most welcome to come to the monthy meetings and if you are on facebook there is a members page to keep up to date as well.

Yes, because the series is a sanctioned CAMS event which is run through the affiliated club - being FNQ, and the only way for CAMS to have the event fully insured is to have all competitors members of an affiliated club in the local area. We accept FNQ, Mossman and Townsville club members as well.

Just let you guys know that we now have a facebook groups page for those of you interested in racing and supporting the series. Remember this is the only race series for us to race our cars up here so please support it.

Look up

Makotrac Sprint Series.

I will be attending a media day up at Makotrac this coming Friday and finalising the training day(s) for the year. The media day is to promote the car show in June but also gives me a chance to promote this series. From what I've been told the Cairns post, a couple local papers and TV media will be there.

I am also looking for series sponsors. If you are interested or know of people who are keen on racing please email me.

Yeah Stuart, do we have to register for the series, and how many people are you planning on having race at each event?

You don't have to register, I will release the supplimentary regulations from CAMS a few weeks before each race then open up entries. Entry forms and payments can be made after that.

But just remember that I will give everyone 2-3 weeks to enter and pay before each event and all payments will have to be in by Wednesday of the race week.

We can run up to 40 entries.
