so what have we got so far?

1. remove the shoutbox. -
2. more mods to delete crappy posts
3. spam and off topic threads only - not 10 different off topic threads
4. suspend users when they talk crap or put others down without jokes

all good ideas.

I still like the fact that i can sell my other stuff on here, it doesn't have to be car related so don't really agree with some of the other stuff.

Matt, is it possible to set up preferences for when you come on here and press the "view new content" button? like people can go in and pick and choose the forums they want to show up instead of new posts in every thread? so if they want to see all the new content in the car related forums only and block all the new content in the "for sale - other items" etc? That would save going through a whole heap of unwanted content for those that don't get on very often. you can do it on facebook, but i'm not computer savvy enough to know if it can be done here.

What czy383 said. Users make the site what it is, not me. I can add features and whatever, but I can't contribute all the content.

Naze.... Not really. I can block it globally, but not by user. It's not real hard to navigate directly to the sections you need via the menu at the top though.

I'm iffy on the Shoutbox. It definitely reduced a lot of spam garbage posts, and will it return if removed? Will people have the sense to use the SPAM THREAD for this? Perhaps a vote on this? Majority wins. I'm not phased either way.

Leave the shoutbox...
Leave the spam thread.
But as soon as a derogitory post or post that does not contribute in a good way to the thread appears...then DELETE IT
The more keyboard warriors posts get deleted then sooner they will give up.
Will mean more RUTHELESS mods tho

I've said it a million times. I, nor any other mod, or yourself read every thread. I read what interests me, like yourself. I read some things now and then to monitor them, but definitely not every thread. If people don't report things they think don't belong it could go unseen by moderators. I delete a lot. Not half as much as used to, but it's not half as bad as it used to be either.

I've moderated 71 things so far this month. Fair bit happens no one notices.....you're just a grumpy old man :P
