Townsville City Autosports Club Motokhannas are on again with a full season of dates for the upcoming months. I'll post up the rest of the dates when I get them.
The big news is that we will now be running them at the V8 supercar track on the hard stand area out the back of the pit building which will be excelent from both a driver's and spectators point of view.
But the first one for the year is in 11 days! on the 21st of Feb.
So get ya hand brakes workin well and find some tyres.
You'll be able to join our club and get a CAMS licence on the day but That will last you all year and an S2 licence will let you run all the other sprint events in townsville.

Here are the sup regs and entry forms.

wow thanks heaps for those evocoop, have been keen to get into this for a while now but just never seem to get around to having the car ready at the right times.. i downloaded those pdfs but just checkin that basically i show up on the day with $50 bucks for club membership and $95 bucks for a CAMS S2 licence and i'll be good to go?? im pretty keen to get involved in some events just havent been sure as to go about it.. also i understand things like these dont run without volunteers, so if theres anything (easy;)) that you need any help with shoot me through a pm and we can go from there..

thanks again for the headsup about the events bro, look forward to meeting you and getting involved with this..

cheers
harris

The costs are 50 for club menbership per calander year............ 95 for a CAMS licence per year..........and for motorkhannas 50 per event. That covers a few trophies and prizes, hire of the venue and Cams event fees and stuff.
We always need volenteers, especially for hillclimb check point officals and i can definatly point you in the right direction of people that will be able to use your help.
I'll probably be runnin around all over the place next sunday but if ya see just pull me up for a yarn.
I've also posted up some more youtube vids of the silvia competing last year. Search under TCAC motorkhanna, I'll try to post them up later.

Yeah mate, come and have a look for sure. It's all free to watch. I don't exactly know what layout they have planed yet but I can guarantee there will be plenty of places to spectate.
I'll be using the GTR this time cause the our S15 is back to being a daily driver for a little while but I did a practice event with the GTR in 4 wheel drive last year so might see how that goes again but if it sucks on a surface with more grip, rear drive only is only a toggle switch away.

Don't be thinking your car isn't ready though. If it runs it's good to go. Ya don't need anything flash. I've seen Bunta be super competive in a stock datsun stanza with no hand brake. I've been carved up big time by a 3 cylinder Daihatsu that spent most of it's time on 3 wheels. Khannas are a great equiliser where driver tallent often trumps hardware.

Yeah come down. We get blokes coming up from Whitsundays all the time to. Pretty sure CAMS don't do day licences anymore but don't quote me. But an s2 will cover you to run the sprints up your way at MAKO aswell so something you won't have to organise later. There is also another Cams licence you can get that is cheaper but it doesn't let you run speed events which a Motorkhanna isn't. But i'd defo be better value to get an s2. So 195 will get you going for this one but it'll only cost nom fees for any CAMS event for the rest of the year. Good Value really.

Would you like me to add a section in the VIDEOS for Sprints? I imagine you're one of the few that'll contribute to it so if you're keen I'll add it.

What an excellent day. Great venue, great driving and a big success. I just hope the Townsville counsel were happy with what went on there today so they'll let us run the 6 more of these that have been penned in for this year. There were many spectators there all day. Probably a 100 there at one point i reckon.
I don't know what pics or vid i got but won't be much cause the camara battery went flat early.
Bunta, thanks for proving my point about the most basic of cars being competive at motorkhanas and congrats on the second place outright.
