A Cairns teenager says she was violently attacked by an older woman after she drove the speed limit in a school zone.
Rachel Geary, 19, said she slowed down from the speed limit of 80km/h to 60km/h for the zone in Caravonica, north of Cairns, last Monday when a female stranger began tailgating her, the Cairns Post reports.
Ms Geary said she pulled over after 20 minutes and was ripped out of her car by the other woman, who had stopped behind her.
The woman, described as Caucasian and aged in her 40s, then repeatedly punched Ms Geary in the face as passengers in the other car "watched and laughed".
"I asked her, ‘What did I do wrong?’ and then she went totally psycho and started bashing me in my face," Ms Geary said.
"She was laying into me. This went on for five minutes and there were another two people in the back seat watching and laughing."
Ms Geary was left with bruising to her face and severe scratches to her chest.
Cairns police have been unable to find the attacker and are continuing investigations.

as i read the speed signs outside that school it is always 80km/h through there except for school times, 7-9.30 and 2-4.30 or something like that, then i think its 40 or 50 isnt it ???
