August 7th @ Cairns International Speedway

PRIZE MONEY: 1st place $3,000 - 2nd place $1,000 - 3rd place $500

NQ PRO BURNOUTS is a tyre frying showcase of horsepower from the tuffest cars in the region with a massive 1st place cash prize of $3,000!!! THE tyre smashing NQ PRO Burnouts is back on in 2010 to send more tyres to the burnout gods! Make sure you don't miss the biggest tyre frying showcase of horsepower to hit Cairns this year.

Last year Benny Circle took home the win and $3,000 in his back pocket in his Pavtek powered Cortina. He'll be back again to defend his title as the NQ PRO Burnouts champion, but you can bet that he will have some tough competition!

This year there is more money up for grabs and by popular demand, a bigger pad! Last year winner took all, this year? $3,000 for first place, $1,000 for 2nd and third takes home $500. Did I mention the pad is now BIGGER?

Gates open from 11AM with the 4cyl, 6cyl, 8 cyl and Ladies classes qualifying until 2PM and heats/finals follow until 6PM. The NQ PRO Burnouts kicks off at 7PM with the best local cars in the North destroying tyres in the hope to take home the big money.

PRO Entrant cars may be registered or non-registered. Blown, aspirated or turboed. Any fuel (meth, pump, etc) is allowed. NO RESTRICTIONS NO LIMITS! Anything goes! The only restriction is your car must be presentable. This does not mean it must be a show car, but it must not be a shit box either!

PRO Competitors do not need to "qualify". We know you can smash tyres! Each competitor is only required to do one burnout and is judged on the first 90 seconds. One skid, make it count. PRO entrant cars may skid throughout the day if you wish but will not be judged.

JUDGING

As usual judging will be based on instany smoke (out of 10), constant smoke ( out of 10), driver control (out of 20) and vehicle performance (out of 10) for a total possible points of 50. For further details on judging see here.

MEET & GREET

For those wanting to catch up and have a brew with the other competitors and event staff come on down to The Rock Tavern on Friday night, August 6th. We'll be meeting there from 7PM. On the Bruce Highway, The Rock Tavern has plenty of parking and is easily accessible. Click here to see a map.

Already this is panning out to be a huge event! If you have any queries please contact us.

Check back closer to the date for further details on the biggest and best burnout show in North Queensland.

Talked to a few entrants from last year. Still drumming up interest but so far Mike in the toughest Galaxie around, Brenton Miller in his famous Centura, Laurie Sultana in his big block tyre fryer, and Colin Wolfe in his Commodore ute, Jason Tanks driving Casper and Nich Augostis in AGRAV8TD will be back to show us what his blown ute is capable of. Already this is one tough line up and we're still three months out!!!

Nice look forward to seeing it out. The new scoop looks tops. There is a lot of interest out there so should be even better than 2009!

Nick in AGRAV8TD had a let go last year, but as he was being pushed off he said "I'll be back!!!". True to his word he has confirmed he is coming back again to put on a show after last years unfortunate carnage trophy award. IBLOWN is also keen to return and will be one of the top contenders this year! Mike in the Galaxy is coming back to swing his huge power house around the pad, and now that it's bigger it will be good to see how he goes! Murray in the twin 302 van is returning again and hopefully has less issues than last year. Daryl is keen to throw some hoops in his 1971 Camaro again and I imagine plans to run on brand new big feet like last year! Of course Laurie in his blown HQ tonna will be there keen as always to destroy some tyres. And of course Benny Circle's, after his win last year, will return and be first off the rank this year to set the standard and he won't be show with the revs knowing the competition he has!!!

This will be top show. Be sure not to miss it.

It'd be great to see you there Lee. You were definitely one of the toughest last year in my books! Swinging it like no other car there!

I am undecided on barriers. Really they shouldn't be needed, but we'll see.

Deja vu.... you said this last year! LOL.

I am pretty sure he'll be there. I spoke with him a couple weeks ago and he said he is keen. I will have to ring him and stir him up.

Ross in the 427 JAGUAR is coming up also.

Must do. He's had some motor issues, but I would be surprised if he doesn't figure something out to make the event. He'll be there :)

the pad is well big enough for barriers now, after some of the whinging i heard last year about cars placing this will definitely help them understand that burnouts are for burnout pads not the speedway track..

yea the little truck engine had a few rpm on board last year..

Jason & Samantha Bean are coming up from Brisbane to check out the what the North has to offer! Jason will be commentating for the night and be at our meet and greet Friday night so come on down, have a drink and introduce yourself.

Johnny Revmaster will be back again as part of the judging team this year. He would have liked to bring "JACK" but not possible. He said next year it'll be up from Brisbane to put on a show!!!

Only four weeks to go!!! Any bets on who will win? Cairns vs Townsville? Can Cairns keep the title of the NQ PRO Burnout Champion or does Townsville have something that can show up what Cairns has?
