Took my kids to Townsville dragway last night to discover it was shut.

No lights on, gate locked etc.

What's the go, no street meet on? I went after looking up the dates on the Townsville Dragway
website.

Needless to say I had one crying 2 yr old, and two disappointed older kiddies.

(don't need cold weather if ya running race fuel and you got good cooling system in ya car including good intercooler. I have everything in my car to run an 8 the only thing that might let me down is having the 3 speed C4 not a powerglide, but can guarantee ya's if nothing goes wrong with my car the first night it hits the strip if it don't run a mid to low 9 i will sell it, I have spent too much on it and all the right combos for it not to do it) :lmao:

You're not wrong!!!
Standouts to me
1. Barry Moore's new Soarer.What a beautiful car!!!
2.Daryl Chapman's new 55 chev.Talk about loads of appeal.
3.And for something a little older school how sweet was that silver XW?

Once I got tyre pressures dialled in I was running very consistant 7.6s @ 88s
And isn't that what limiters are for? :P

I was set up with Harold Campbell(black XW 302)Scott Urrey(lime green HQ SS 454)Skinny Jackson(green escort van 302) and Brett Deneen(BLU51 XE ute 351)

Brett,Scott and myself were all running pretty bloody close to each other.

might have been an idea to update the Townsville Dragway website. I would have really been spewing if I had travelled down from Cairns specifically, luckily I was down there to visit a sick elderly relative.

They're hopeless ray, no wonder the track has no future, they cant even manage their website let alone the strip, I would never trust the info off there

I was in the Corolla, i only managed a 15.1 @ 100mph
Couldn't for the life of me get off the line. Tried with just a normal getaway and wheel spin was violent.
Clutch now feels nice and soft and squishy.

Had fun though.

I was lined up behind your GTR, damn that thing moves. For an all wheel drive vehicle, there was a heap of tyre smoke off the line.
