Trying to find out what the go is with my Hilux. When turning the wheel it sort of vibrates at around 1/2 lock each way from center, and again at around 3/4 I guess. It's nothing violent, similar to a mobile phone vibration, but none the less does vibrate and can feel and hear it. Unsure as to why it's doing it and can't find anything on Google about this sort of problem.

Power steer fluid is fine. Does it when on or off, so seems not a power steering issue.

Any ideas?

Not likely. Does on or off, 5km/h or 60km/h. Wheel alignment wouldn't matter at such low speeds, especially when off.

Locked diff and circle work will fix that.

wat do u mean on or off?, as in engine on or off, car still moving? wheel alingment can actually affect it at low speeds m8, whether u like to think so or not, but if its while the engine is off but car still rolling my guess would b steering box, or possibly a dodgy tie-rod end or ball joint, jack it up and do the wobble test and check for play while a 2nd set of eyes watches, give me 5 mins with it and il tell u what it is Matt, bring it round if u want

As in engine off, sitting on the spot, doing nothing but turning the wheel. As if I'd drive it with the engine off. Power brakes and steering lock..... bugger that :)

Possibly the other things though. I will check them. I'm lazy but. See how I go.

Negative. Mark suggested it, and it's what I was thinking also. Bearing in steering column.
