eb v8 4spd auto

our eb trans is playing games, in 1st wont go anywhere but feels like its in gear but strains when accel, put it in 2nd and will drive but every 5-10 mtrs just above idle tightens then frees up again same in drive but no reverse what do you think?? is it cactus?? cheers mick h

yeh m8, its cactus, common as muck, my old eb 5 litre had no 1st or 3rd gear, so only 2nd and top, reverse was a bit dicky at times, but the only way out of it was a recoed trans that the new owner ended up putting in
the only thing to fear is fear itself.....

Hiya Mick. As it's a Ford it will keep going for some time yet, although reverse will be a problem in some situations.
I do think a recon box is not far away. Good luck with it.

being a windsor, would a c4 with the correct bellhousing fit or does the auto talk to the engine computer?

the starter is in the wrong position on a C4, needs the 5.0ltr bell housing
