Also if you went to the new 3.1.3 firmware, go to www.spiritjb.com to jailbreak the phone once again. But just note that there is no carrier unlock for 3.1.3, but everything else you could do with jailbreaking the phone is still available.

ben how many times do i have to tell u... iphone HAS mms and also HAS video recording, the iphone that comes out very very soon has video calling and who on earth NEEDS changable memory cards when u have 32 gig already inbuilt?

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

It's super effective!!!

It's like - say I take a high fibre, dump on a dinner plate - and I give it to you and say "Y0 check it out - it's the latest Toblerone", and somehow, I managed to convince you it's the greating thing ever created. And you eat it, like Brian eating Stewies nappy in Family Guy S08E17 (if you haven't seen it, even for a cartoon it's pretty gross...but funny at the same time).
But...back to my point. Apple have done a great job at marketing. There's no doubt. They've managed to market a product, that is years behind other phones on the market, but have convinced the masses it's the latest and greatest thing.
Windows Mobile could do stuff 4yrs ago, that even the latest iPhone can't even do. Like copy a file over a bluetooth connection. Set an mp3 as a ring tone without having to go through a 20min procedure that involves "tricking" the phone.
Now all the die hard Apple fans will be like "Yeah but you can jailbreak it and get all that functionality." My point is, you shouldn't HAVE to jailbreak it. That's like buying a Bugatti Veyron for $1mil, then having to take it to [insert performance shop here] to get the other 6 cylinders unlocked.
I haven't played with Android yet (*waits for TRK to chime in*) but I'm sure the current version of Android, and the new upcoming version will make an iPhone look a fancy PSP that can also make calls.
What sparked this thread from me, is the latest marketing video from Apple. You can take a look for yourself here. (Click "Watch the iPhone 4 video").
http://www.apple.com...e/features.html
In particular, the guy that starts talking at 20 seconds into the video.
1. in 2007, yes, he's correct. The iPhone did reinvent the phone. The multi-sense touch screen was a revolution. Before that, smartphones used a stylus or slide out keyboard. Or even an attached scaled down keyboard that was hard to use.
2. In 2008 the iPhone brought 3G. No it didn't. 3G was already there. Apple were just caving in to a pretty obvious requirement that was recognised years earlier by EVERY OTHER PHONE COMPANY ON THE PLANET.
3. In 2009, he says the 3GS brought out new features like video recording. That's awesome. That's a feature my JasJam from 2005 had.
But, you know what really grinds my gears the most. What he says at 48s into the video. That right there, has pissed me off the most. They're making it like - they (Apple) have just introduced VIDEO CALLING to the world. Like - it's this new thing, that nobody has known about before. And listen to the way he says it, seriously. Just have a listen.
They call it "Face Time" - like...it's some proprietary f**king thing. That's like me calling rape, not rape but..."surprise sex".
Never has something been so true aswell, than the comic in Mr B's thread here: http://www.boostcrui...howtopic=593316
So I just wanna say - f**k you Apple and DIAF.
