- SATURDAY THE 18TH OF DECEMBER -
Think you have enough mechanical muscle and drivers skill to win $1000 cash in a Pro Tree, Heads Up, Eliminations Drag Race? If so sign up! This competition is open to anyone across QLD who has a quick streetcar that is currently registered. This is a two part competition involving street driving & drag racing which is designed to separate the real street cars from the pretenders. (All prize money is guaranteed)
Common Rules:
- Exhaust must exit at the rear of the car, no turn downs before diff, chevy dumps ok, must be at least 1 muffler.
- Interior must remain, e.g. seats, dash, hood lining etc. Interior may only be modified in order to comply with safety rules at the track.
- Exterior must remain, e.g. bumpers, bonnets, tail gates etc. Fibreglass replacement panels allowed, lexan is not. All windows must be operational.
- If you require assistance from your support vehicle on the cruise you will be disqualified from the competition, however you are welcome to still make use of the 2 hour Test & Tune session and participate in the hour of Grudge Racing after the Finals.
- Major repairs to vehicles are allowed in both classes provided you are able to get the car back to the pits under its own power.
- Parts, tools, or supplies are not allowed to be brought into the pits. Competitors are only allowed to access parts they have brought with them in the car they are racing, or from their one and only support vehicle. Borrowing from fellow competitors is allowed.
- All safety gear relevant to times you have previously run at Tsv Dragway must be installed prior to racing or you will not be allowed to race. (Please see below for details)
- The first 40 entries only pay $80 ($50 cash pool fee & $30 track entry fee) and have the fee for VHT($20) waived.

RT class rules: In the pits you can -
- Change tires,
- Drop exhausts,
- Install nitrous oxide,
- Ice intakes,
- Removal of head light allowed e.g. turbo cars.
- Unlimited choice on fuel for racing,
- PLEASE NOTE: Unleaded fuel must be used for the cruise.

ST class rules:
- Changing of tyres is not allowed. Limited to treaded drag radials.
- Use of nitrous oxide, non pump fuel, or changing of spark plugs is NOT allowed.
- Exhaust must NOT be altered after the cruise for racing. This includes removing bungs or opening electric cut outs.

- TOWNSVILLE DRAGWAY VEHICLE SAFETY CHECK LIST -
VEHICLES SLOWER THAN 12.000 E.T.
- Minimum quick release 3 point lap sash seat belt. Clothing to cover the full length of limbs (pref. not synthetic).
- Enclosed shoes.
- Intact windscreen and windows.
- Radiator overflow/reserve bottle.
- Wheel studs on all wheels.
- Tyres and wheels in good condition.
- Working brakes and taillights.
- Secure driver seat.
- No fluid leaks.
- Securely braced battery.
- Helmet meeting Australian standards or better.
- As above plus a 4 point harness.
VEHICLES QUICKER THAN 11.000 E.T.
- As above plus a 4 point roll cage. Fire suit meeting SFI 3.2A/5 or higher.
- Fire resistant gloves, boots and socks.
- Arm restraints or window net.
- Helmet as per minimum national standard.
VEHICLES QUICKER THAN 10.000 E.T.
- As above except you require a 6 point roll cage. Purpose built and reinforced race seat.
- 4 point harness.
VEHICLES 130MPH AND FASTER
- 5 point harness with a crutch strap. Vehicles with 2 wheel brakes require an approved Drag Racing Parachute at 130mph and above.
- Vehicles with 4 wheel brakes require an approved Drag Racing Parachute at 140mph and above.
