hey guys,
how difficult would it be to remove a turbo from a SR20DET or a CA18DET for these stupid P plate laws?
I'm chasing a non turbo 180sx, but seeing there rare i thought that if you remove the turbo,
get a non turbo exhaust manifold and maybe a non turbo air flow meter?

Low compression means its going to run like ass, worst than a standard SR20de.

Don't do it. The turbo motors are designed to be run with a turbo and without they run like crap. Your better off waiting till you get off your P's.

Type S 180SX are rare. Just get an S13 Silvia CA18DE or SR20DE. Very hard to find an non-turbo 180SX. Very rare.

The car is still a factory turbo also so you'd have to go through some bullshit to register it. It'll still say turbo on the build plate and DOT are painful. Just get a Silvia or something.

Problem being for some unknown reason people think it's OK to charge stupid amounts for a N/A version of a popular turbo car. Any way if you do go that way at least you can build up one heck of a turbo motor for it while you wait.

Drama is EVERY 180SX is turbo, aside from the Type S. That's why they are rare.

Good luck even finding a Type S. No one wanted a non-turbo factory optioned turbo car.

im sure u are allowed blue plates, but work is limited to certain things and a certain amount of certifiable mods... i thought it was capped at 3 mod codes though

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend
