Brinks is now the NQ distributor Rockhampton to Darwin for Sucrogen Bioethanol E85 as used by the V8 Supercars.

108 OCTANE!

To get yourself some of this juice or for more details give Brinks a buzz on 4779 8288, or visit his store at 19 Yarrowee Street.

yer and 2.50 a litre is a good price when u consider the power u can make and safety it provides when tuned right :)

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

Ok guys you may have taken what I was saying out of context. I realize that as a performance fuel 2.50 is cheap, I was referring more to running it daily compared to pump fuel. Glad we have a stockist up here now as I have been planning to give it a go but was not interested in paying inflated freight costs to get it up here. Good work brinks :-)

I'm still contemplating putting of my engine build until we can get it from the pumps.

at least I have a spare head I can work on until it's available.

why would you need a spare head to work on??? I havent changed anything in my set up apart from fuel system and ive done heaps of k's on it now and still not one issue.. The car idles better, coldstart is spot on bottom end power and peak power is neck breaking i just hope it gets cheaper in the future not dearer.
Pretty sure your pump fuel blend is going to be different to what Brinks carries anyway.....

it isnt really inflated at all, mecury motorsports sells it at 2.50 a litre also im pretty sure...... and they are the SE QLD dealers...

as for getting it out of the pump... it will take many years for it to come to pumps up here as im pretty sure it is again off the market down south out of pumps....

Are you f**kin retarded. At what point in my post did I say the price of the fuel was inflated? I was talkin about freight companies dangerous goods levy to get it personally freighted up to me.

Only problem is the pump fuel is probably still only ethanol mixed with std ulp or pulp anyway and wont be 108 IMO. I doubt it will be the same as this sucrogen 108 from Brinks.

i'm not gonna get into this argument again, all I'll say is e85 + high compression = efficiency.

yeah I don't care if it's not 108, will still be higher than the supposed optimax and ultimate varieties already available, my main interest is it's detonation resistant behaviour.

I better clear a few things up before things get way off track.

Firstly, I like to point out we are stocking SUCROGEN E85 as CHEAPER alternative RACE FUEL compared to SUNOCO & VP, it was/is never intended to be sold for use in everyday street cars.
You guys that are looking for the CHEAPEST priced fuels for yur daily will have to wait atleast another 18months till it gets to the bowser.

Secondly, SUCROGEN E85 is no comparison to PUMP E85 or even ELF E85....... S/E85 is 108 octane, & the highest octane avail at the bowser will be advertised as 98 but more likely 95 and the %(not octane) will not be consistent throughout the 4 seasons, Also a word of warning, ETHANOL is corrosive, it wasn't that long ago, E10 created alot of problems when it appeared, the bowser does not contain ANTI CORROSIVES. I suppose there will always be people that want the cheapest products avail.....& I guess they all find out the hard way in the end.

Thirdly, OCTANE RATING doesnt make power its actually quite the opposite

Last of all, all fuel shipped here from Melbourne to Townsville incurred freight charges, CSR only cover freight to metro areas, & they tell me they are working on that one for us up NORTH. I will be passing on any discounts if & when they arise..

hope this helps

Ciao

Argument Nemisis?? i wasnt asking for an argument ive been using E85 for over 6 months now so i know the goods and bads of the fuel.. Yes the rsisitance to pinging is like no other fuel on the market so higher compressions is easier for it.. Im sure any questions you have a i can answer them, there are alot of truths and then there are down right f**king bullshit stories going on about it..

Be careful what you believe because popular magazines have been guilty of false info..

Top stuff to Tony once people get to use the fuel and see its potential you will need to double the supply :)

and this is why I said that, I have been through the ins and the out's of the fuel also, and everytime I mention what I'm doing I get hit with people who are caught up in the hype.

I'm just sick of hearing people claiming I can't do what I'm doing who have no bloody clue what they're talking about.

I'm not claiming this was going to be you in this instance, but it's bound to happen with so many on this forum, so I'm keeping the details between myself and the engine builder
