I got some photos that are apparently of some new speed camera vans heading north soon. This could be bullshit but If true they may catch a few people out. I dont think speed cameras work, only the presence of actual police with the radar in their hand. So heres the revenue raisers, ah 'vans' i mean, to look out for. Theres also a light blue one to look out for too.

Ive seen these around the traps lately, but have always noticed they do not display the "Speed Camera in Use" sign on the footpath? I was always under the impression this was required?

No Not any more as of around mid last year Queensland bought in the new covert laws for police, witch allows them not to display the sign, use plane vehicles (used to have to have the 'speed kills' etc signage on the car) allows them to park them in concealed spots,(behind trees, footpaths etc) this new law also allows them to drive generic cars to entrap 'drag racing' and to 'blend in' if they were wanting to catch a 'hoon' they can drive a VL and bait someone at the lights for example, and can also drive a Dato 120Y while on patrol as well if they want. these new vans/utes also have the ability to catch you on the fly, as in while in traffic, they approach the car from behind and snap you while behind you then move on to another car, I have scene them in action along Nathan St and the way they drive to catch the next victim is just dangerous, they actually speed to get the next person.

I dont think they will use old cars like VL though. More like newer performance cars like the orange xr6 I seen pulling people over on the way to work. There was a red sv8 getting around not long ago either.

As for speed camera vans there has been a dark blue or green Nissan Pathfinder on university drive in the past few weeks with a camera on board. No signage on it at all.

Yeah, I spied a nissan pathfinder (I think), unmarked, on Anderson St Cairns doing speed camera duty, with no sign on the footpath.

Has been done down south (Brisbane, gold coast) and if not up here yet will definitely be not far away, they have also used a turbo laser (90's model) that I know of on there Fri / Sat 'Hoon' Blitzs. With this new law they have, can and will use any car they feel will get most 'results' (revenue). They Have used an old modded Gemini as a surveillance car at 'hoon' meet ups down south to later book people racing etc. Before this new legislation it didn't permit this type of 'law enforcement' to happen.

they dont need to have a radar speed reading to get done for a "hooning" offence as they book you under a dangerous driving clause.... as for them baiting people, i heard that law was getting thrown out so they can bait people now, which is down right farking stupid, the police are essentially trying to cause a dangerous driving situation, to do a bit of revenue raising, its pathetic but seriously, who actually goes to race someone they dont know??? and who does it around a group of people they dont know these days??? let alone close to anywhere that a police car or officer would go
The Subaru Impreza is the Automotive equivalent of a decent prostitute.......They perform well, provide a good/thrilling ride but every f*ckers been there and done it already...

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend
