Well thought i'd show something that well has been a little bit costly to me but i also find rather funny at the same time and was wondering who else has had similar storys that they'd like to share

Well basically.. doin my engine swap/engine bay respray/gearbox selector fork/syncro issue fix on my sil at home.. and well while shoe horning the motor and gearbox back into it today i was uh.. climbing sorta standing on the motor and box while guideing it into place and slipped and smashed the windscreen with my ass

Anyone else have any similar annoying yet funny storys to share?

Either way i'm up for a new windscreen, but the engine and gearbox are back in place and its time to reassemble and rewire it all!

This one time when we were trying to swap over an auto, the fluid just kept leaking out. Turn out it was a warped pan.... Then we smashed a connector and had to go searching everywhere only to steal one from a GTR, crimp it and it's still the same to this day.

Your story is pretty damn funny though. Engine looks at home

The guys going to think here's another kid using a fake ID or here's McLovin, the 25 year old Hawaiian organ donor. So what's it going to be? I am McLovin. No your not. No one's McLovin, McLovin's never existed because that's a made up, dumb, f**king fairy tale name you f**k

Pulling apart coops rb26 the first thing we noticed was a piston upside down in the bore..... kinda knew it was going to be a mess inside thou as a rod had poked a hole out of the back of the motor.

When I put the SR20 in the old 180SX we split the box from the motor to inpsect the clutch before dropping it all in. Good news is that it was a Nismo clutch, bad news was it was fucked. Worse news was I needed to drive it to work on Monday.

Rang Prospool to see if they had anything and said he had a stock one in his garden some where..... so there I was digging around his garden for a clutch. Found it under a bunch of wet leaves.

Stayed in there for a good couple years before it started slipping and and exeedy was ordered.

When we pulled the RB26 out of my old GTR and undid the engine mounts and proceeded to lift the engine out, soon realising that both engine mounts had split a long time ago. So one half of each mount was attached to the engine and the other half's were still sitting in the engine bay. Many laughs were had. Guess gearbox mounts wouldn't have liked all that twisting......

I was installing a dual battery microprocessor/charger thingy in my Landcruiser ute.

I found a really nice spot on the passender side wall. I started to drill a hole for the mounting bracket, and the drill bit poked me in the gut, the part of the wall i chose was only one layer thick......

covered it up with a nice looking cruiser badge. Looked factory. lol

Another one i just remembered...

Working on a mates car making a new 4" intake pipe/CAI, we were putting it in behind the bar which required drilling a nice hole with a 4.5" holesaw well i drilled the hole in the inner guard than put the drill down and kept working away...

my housemate at the time thought it would be funny to pick the drill up hold it away and pull the trigger while pulling the trigger on the drill while he poked me in the back with his finger

natural reaction i flinched forward and sway my arm back to push it away, the drill wasnt held very far away and the hole saw decided to bite into my arm just above my elbow, endup with skin on the holesaw and a decent chunk taken out of my arm!

when installing my new oil cooler and remote oil filter adapter we were taking every precaution not to drip oil on the cement of the new house I just bought ,so we laid down carpet, cardboard and whatever else would protect my new pristine garage floor
worked like a treat

then it came time to starting the car and it proceeded to blow the oil filter adapter plate off and pump 2 to 3 litres of oil all over the concrete

moral of the story kids is always work on your car at someone elses house (and make sure you match the threads of you oil filters correctly)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ hahahahahahahahaha i been kinda guilty of that b4, was just doing an oil filter change on the old mans D40 navara, and we pulled the old filter off, whacked the new one on and filled her up with oil, started it, and reliesed there was a solid stream of oil coming out,

turned out the old o-ring was still stuck to the filter adapter on the block, so 2 o-rings = bad news people :P

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

Can relate to that pedro.
Was changing the oil in my bike as ive done 100 times before.
I start filling it back up not paying much attention, only to find the oil lapping my feet. Moral of the story: put the SUMP PLUG back inPosted Image
Worst part is it was at my parent house

have a few and most are Rob (passion fingers) related

Cracking an rb26 sump was probably the stupidest most expensive one haha

Another expensive one was him using a sledge hammer on gtr rear driveshafts, flattened the end so you couldnt get the nut back on, I ended up getting some sent up for $450 from tasmania to use on the s14

s14 has destroyed 2 sets of standard mounts like the ones pictured above, before I went to nismo..

Having the clutch melt to the flywheel then driving the car home from the drift day ages ago by rev matching and forcing it into gear while dodging traffic light (couldnt stop) good times

I got one. Over filled my auto. Pulled the line I thought was the in line from the transmission to the rad. Got a coke bottle to catch it. Wouldn't you know it the hose was an outlet to the external cooler. Cue oil going every where and killing the grass for a few months.

i did a gearbox change in a mates new garage. i had a bowl under the back of the box to catch any oil that spilled out. as the tail shaft dropped it caught the edge of the bowl that flipped onto its side and rolled away from me across the new virgin garage floor. by the time i got out from under the car, got the bowl and stuck it back under the car there was about 2 litres of old gearbox fluid on the floor. mate was less than impressed but near pissed himself laughing when i told him that i had mopped about half of it up with my hair (was sporting a pretty mean mullet in those days. lol)

i thought i would save abit of money by changing the clutch myself..how hard can it be.

oil everywhere

there are 8 (i think) flywheel bolts.......not 7 i didnt count them.....that one bolt is damn strong but bwahahaha.

twinplate rebuilt no problems.

time to re install.....ummmmm which way was the front on the clutch....hmmmmmm whats the worst that could happen......

everything back together and only 3 bolts left over.....only small ones so it was ok.

wow this thing has the shakes.....lol

i put one of the clutch plates in backwards.....
