:driving: Hey all,
just got myself a BA xr6 turbo and have a bit of spare cash to spend on it. Wondering where the best place to take it for mods would be? Spoken to some places but they dont make me feel confident bout leaving them to work on my car.

Looking for around the 500hp mark and if anyone has any tips on the cheapest way to get there that would be great!

Cheers....

Go see SVS about it.. exhaust, injectors, valvesprings and a tune with the boost wound up is a good start.

500 Rear wheel hp!

Yeh i went to SVS they know what there doin but they wanted around the $9000 mark to get to that hp. After i posted this topic i got in contact with CAPA down south and they can send me a DIY kit for around $4000 for 500hp so i might go with that. My uncle is a mechanic so he should be able to help me with the fitting of it all.

I wouldn't DIY much after 300hp... Especially with the tune.
Unless you know what your doing.

if u want a quick p plate car go get a commodore with a ecotec and put a set of extractors on it and a 2.5 exaust on it with a ss cai in it and a tune and it will keep up with a stock ls1

xr6t, live in qld and not going to see dave sheehy in mackay???? ur mad, that man is a true xr6t legend, and im sure plenty of people here with xr6t's will vouch for his work, its defz worth the drive to get the power ur chasing, and to have the car last a decent life
The Subaru Impreza is the Automotive equivalent of a decent prostitute.......They perform well, provide a good/thrilling ride but every f*ckers been there and done it already...

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

500rwhp in a Ba. Start with a new bottom end. The Ba bottom ends don't like goin much past 400rwhp before bending their licorice conrods. A typhoon bottom end out of a 6/06 on xr6 will take 500hp daily or a typhoon short motor from ford. Or just build your bottom end.
