In the past few weeks the need for a car has increased a fair amount for me due to a need for independence transport wise
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion, ideas, thoughts or anything about what would be a good first car for a red P plater
Basic requirements
- Engine: 2.4L - 3.8L
- Cylinders: 4 - 6
- Body: Large sedan preferably, 4door 4 seat (NO HATCHBACKS)
- Transmission: Preferably automatic since I find it a real bitch to drive a manual when I visit my grandparents in brisbane
- Fuel: Unleaded/Premium Unleaded
- Year: post 2000 depending on the car, suggestions for older cars still welcome
- Price: $10000 - $15000 (Preferably lower than $15000)
Im looking for this car to last me atleast a good 5 years and wanting it to be a car that people wont be embarrassed to be seen in the passenger seat or for me to be seen driving. I will be making some small modifications to the car to improve power and efficiency but nothing too big.
Im not looking for a street racer, just a car that looks good and drives good too
Have looked at a few cars just to get ideas on size, etc
- TJ Mitsubishi Magna Sports/VR-X
- Volvo S60 (S80 is a great size)
Thank you for your suggestions

I really would prefer an auto because I may be moving to Brisbane late next year or early 2012 and some of my relatives live on the steepest hills in the world -.-
literally on 45 degree angles and that would be a huge bitch to do a hill start on

mate the best would be a later then 2000 model falcon or commodore they won't cost you a fortune to mantain, plenty of them out there and you can style them up to the particular hotty cars.
As I get older I have learnt : Don't waste an erection , and never trust a fart.....

+1 theres reasons why they r popular, and this is one of them, just please dont spool it, and run 4.11's and cut the springs.........cause i wanna do it first lol

I've got a tj Magna vr-x. They are superior to commodore and falcon quality wise and quicker. FWD is a downside but for daily driver, they are pretty perfect. Other downsides are less than great brakes and a very poor turning circle. Upgrades I would recommend are better brakes and a decent set of mags, as Mitsubishi have a reputation of coming up with the ugliest factory mags on the planet.
CHILL OUT... TAKE IT EASY... AND IF IT'S EASY... TAKE IT
