Mareeba would be a great idea. Definitly dryer. Might even be a bit cooler.
I wonder if anyone's ever suggested to whoever to have some sort of racing up there.

Just as a matter of interest was just Talking to Tony Van - Castrol Australia and the new bloke that is taking over from him and they were asking me the same thing every one on here has been asking - IS IT ON, I told them not this year, so they asked (and if there are any committee members reading this) GET US A PROPOSAL TOGETHER ASAP and we'll see what we can do we would still be willing to do something so hopefully posting this hear won't fall on deaf ears like a lot of stuff does. Any way to all those who racing in the KOTH @ Townsville on the 11th Nov 2006 - GOOD LUCK

my mate geoff spoke to less hicks on the wend and he siad the only reason it was not on and nothing had been done to orginise it was because of the cyclone, and he thought it best not to push for the meeting this year as the town has enough to deal with at the moment without a drag race.. that info has come straight from les himself..

As usual another big cop out, with all the work being done down here it would have been easy to have it on there are probably more people in this town at present then ever before, and with spirits requiring a boost it would have been better to hold the event to as they lift peoples spirits, and if the number of people that have turned up at my house and my place of work is indication it would have been huge, I am sick of having to tell people sorry it's not on and then try to explain why, well now I know it was as always a select few people to do all the work and not enough people to help out, I just wish people would be honest and tell it as it is, they simply need less chief's and more indians, Well here's hoping something will happen next year, as I said in a previous post CASTROL AUSTRALIA are as keen as mustard to get something happening but it has to be put in place soon or they won't be able to program it into there budget, Point of interest the Ingham event recently went of well and that had the backing of the local Castrol Reps and deallers etc it would be a shame to see the event fizzal out all together and not happen here again, and worst of all some other town get the benefits.

Whats the point I personally put together to proposals two years ago for them to vote on for Castrol and they could not make a decission as to what they wanted to do so it all got put to one side, I have done all the ground work here by keeping in touch with all the previous sponsors from the first three years events but due to the committee besiding they could do it better it was all left in a big heap with me to answer to all the sponsors we had here in Innisfail (as to why no one had contacted them) the clubs excusse was they should have contacted them well simply that is horse shit if you want people to sponsor an event and to hand over money for the event you have to look after them and chase them up not the other way around.
All my comments are just that comments they are not directed at any one personally, I fell the club is the one that needs to do a re-think maybe get some of the new faces running it not just helping out and for the older members to let the newer ones know exactly how it all works and not just keep it all in there own heads

Thats a shame but got to have some where to live and got to keep the little lady happy I suppose she would have had enough of cars etc this year so get her into her new house asap and you can get back to it again next year.
