The NQMP Sprints are on at the Makotrac again this year. Race dates as below,

Feb 27th - Come try fun day, driver training and motorkhana. Special price, $100 per person.
April 3rd - Round 1
June 19th - Round 2
August 7th - Round 3
Oct 16th - Round 4

We are also looking into 1 more round either a 1 day tarmac event or a sprint in Cairns.

I know it has been done before but could someone please remind us all what is required to run at one of these events.

if i get the car back together in time i'm keen to give the trial day a go, why dont you just put a brief list of what the cars need in the first post?

What You & Your Car Needs

- An entrant vehicle does not need to be registered but will require scrutineering on the race day
- A lap seat belt as a minimum
- Australian Standards Helmet
- A 1kg Fire Extinguisher must be securely mounted within driver reach inside the car
- A battery locator sticker needs to be on the car
- Wrist to ankle attire. (Long sleeve shirt, shoes, long pants)

The fun day event will not be a sanctioned CAMS, AASA event.

The cars have to be registered although if you bring a non registered car will be scrutineered.

You will not need a helmet, fire extinguisher etc for this event

Your seat belt must work.

You may wear shorts and short sleved shirt, you must wear enclosed footwear.

Don't worry, if this kicks off, we'll do another one later in the year. Also forgot to mention that the driving activities start at 9.00am, if you want to join in be at the track at 8.30am.

Good news guys. We have a couple of sponsors giving away prizes for the timed motorkhana on the 27th.

1st prize a full car detail from eTech remapping and detailing.
2nd Oil change and filter from Japan Auto.

i will be there to watch not able to participate though lack of a paying job makes life rather crappy in the modified car lifestyle lol

Had a great day yesterday, 34 entries and about 20 of those new members. The morning session consisted of 4 driver training events and after luch we had 3 timed motorkhana laps. Thanks always to Andrew the FNQ motorsports club President, Patto and Rowan for helping out.

went up for a look see, keen for the next one mate. Didn't enter because I wasn't keen to pay $100 to "half" drive my car on the wet track. Should have, cause it seemed to dry out pretty well by the arvo.

Looked like a great turn out, so will see you next time it's on!
