Hi,

I recently needed a spare part for my SR and I rang everywhere (wreckers etc) and no-one had the part, I didn't want to go new because it wasn't needed as a second hand one done the job. I had to get the part sent from Brisbane as I had no idea where else I was going to get it from ... I was wondering, where do all the import drivers in Cairns, get their spares from?

If there is a thread about this already, I am sorry but I did search and nothing came up :P ... lol

Thanks in advanced ....

ALSO if YOU have an SR with random spares in the garage, please let me know if you are wanting to sell some :)

Hey, thanks for that, I do buy lots of the net, sometimes it is easier then searching everywhere else but the reason I am asking around here is if I need it in a hurry like that day, ha ha, I am impatient sometimes :P

import monster is a bloody rip off, the postage charges and commission they charge is just stupid...

all my stuff comes from brissy and sydney, but with having a popular motor like an SR20 there will be plenty of guys up here that may or will have random junk laying around that comes in handy
The Subaru Impreza is the Automotive equivalent of a decent prostitute.......They perform well, provide a good/thrilling ride but every f*ckers been there and done it already...

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

I got a shed full of sr parts, what are you after?

and silvia, sr20det parts are piss easy to obtain

If you cant find something let me know, or look at nissansilvia.com

Very expensive but nissan dealerships can get pretty much any part you want

What are you looking for?
Plenty of places to get parts from, but most parts you can get from private sale, don't need to go to an importer and pay a premium
I have shelves full of stock parts and bits that have been removed from the car, as most owners with modified SR's do and getting rid of unwanted stock parts can be hard up here lol

nissansilvia.com
eBay
JDM spares
Asian Auto Spares
Adelaide Jap Dismantles
East Coast Customs
just to name afew.......

Ebay is you friend. if not nissansilvia, but be wary about stuff for sale on internet forums. Only buy from reputable users, ie site sponsors been on there for years, not the newbies.

Once again, thanks for the imput. I use Ebay a lot, also Just Jap, Triple 9, Option 1 garage, N.S etc. I was just wondering if there was a secret import wrecker, HAHA ...
The part I needed was a metal turbo water feed line, with a banjo bolt sleeve. I just wanted to go to a wreckers and pick one up for $20 as I needed the car for work the next day, but since I couldn't find one, I went to Enzed and got one made up which cost me a lot more then a second hand one would, lol.

I don't need anything at the moment but I will def put up a wanted to buy thread when my car decides to shit itself again. Thanks!

There isn't any where to just go up here really. The best chance of getting something (spare parts) wise up here is from other people with similar cars.

Me too, it was the most frustrating thing I have ever done ... and because it was the first time I had done one on a SR (I'm a RB & JZ fan), it was worse, I had to make a few inventive tools and by inventive I mean a tool connected to another tool, ziptied to a socket kinda tool =/ lol
