See Pete @ Cougar Motors on Draper Street. Let him know you're a QSS member and will do you a good deal.

If its a ba falcon??? I would start by cleaning the throttle body out, if that doesn't change anything take the coil cover off and check if there is oil down the plug holes (oil leaks from the cam angle sensors) this can cause a intermittent miss fire,
Unless there is an engine light on, most scan tools will not show anything

TPS, o2 sensor are my guessed. Or a coil letting go.

If you don't read this in every thread. I am probably banned.

nah its not a ba its an au 5litre. i put new coil packs, leads and plugs a few weeks ago it started playing up after that. thinking maybe a cracked plug. it may have something to do with a sensor. someone said the flywheel may be out of balance.

just checked all the plugs none were cracked. although it seems like definitely 1 possibly 2 are not working. the contact in 2 of the leads had green corrosion on them so thats what makes me think they are not sparking. does anyone else think this is odd?

If you still have all the original bits (plugs, leads etc) put it all back the way it was. If it runs okay then you'll know it's one of those. Then you swap the new components in one by one to see which is causing the problem. Green corrosion in the leads is not normal.

still have old coil packs but the old leads fell apart they were so brittle. the old plugs were hammered aswell. gunna take it to laurie today see if he can see whats wrong with it. the most annoying thing is it only has 140k on the clock. i just need it tp run properly for a couple of months then she is getting an overhaul. 347 stroker kit, cam, heads are getting a bit of a tickle and a little vortech strapped on. not after massive power just fun reliable power.
