Does this mean i need to either get the car towed there, or get a day registration so i can drive the car there?? im sure with my last car i just rode the scooter to the DOT with the rwc for my 31, paid the registration and just went home again with the plates and put them on my car, but maybe it was different then or something..
Can anyone shed light on this??
So to recap, do i need to take the car i am registering into the DOT with the rwc to get it registered, or can i just go there in the missus' car with the rwc and the receipt of sale and register the car like that??
thanks alot guys..

ive never had them want to inspect the car after its been Roady'd so providing you have all the paperwork you shouldnt need to take the car in.. go for the scooter option as its less hassle

Honda (n) hon-duh: Coming from the Swahili word Hoonduh, which means "When I grow a real penis, I'll get a real car"

so your saying i can just get the rwc for the 180, work out who im getting CTP through, and take those two things and the receipt for the price of the car to the DOT and get it registered without having to take my car there??
i was just gonna cruise down in the girlfriends echo, get it registered then bring my plates home and whack them on..

They normally ask if you have the car there, answer yes and they may or may not randomly ask to check the numbers. Answer
no and the process may stop there and then.
The VIN/Engine number check is usually done by the man/lady at the counter who wouldn't know the finer points of what they are
looking at in an engine bay other than the numbers.

Once you have the RWC, take it to wherever you wanna get your CTP from (I usually use suncorp for convenience) pay it up, then you can legally drive the car down to the DOT.

If they wanted me to bring the car in, I would tell them to let me drive it to them or they pay for the tow truck. Otherwise lick the bag.

I don't like being told what to do, and when some aluminium cased box of gears and friction plates tells me that it's time to change up, I really get pissed off. I will decide when it's time to change gears and sometimes I'm right. So the old smarty-pants automatic transmission isn't my best friend

Yeah I have had this argument with them before with the VK, I just saved my self the time with the 180 and went and got a blue plate, although they didn't even ask me for one when registering it.
