Got an email from a mte today at work, don't know where he got it from but check it out!!!!!

At the Holden vs Ford show this weekend (just gone), Eddy Tassones VZ
Commodore ute made 1899rwhp, which is a new world record. The car has a 383
stroker V8 (based on the old Holden 5.0L block) with twin turbos, custom
cam and manifold using 40psi and C16 fuel. Apparently they backed off
before the redline because the engine was leaning out due to the fact it
was not tuned properly (they only put the engine together the day before
the event), so it only revved to 6500rpm, and the dyno graph indicates it
will keep going. Summernats, here we come.
The dyno sheet below was taken after the second run, the third run was
1898.9rwhp.

All that and she is still road registered!!!

In this months street machine they have printed the new rules for Horse Power Heros. For starters the car will have to be able to drive down any street, any time, any place. you'll be out of the main competition if you have any of the following.
Racing numbers
Singificant Signage, sponcers ect.
Race purpose tyres.
Light wieght removable panels, bootlids ect
Polycarbonate screens and non-operational side windows
Wheelie bars and/ or parachute
Wings and tall bonnet scoops
Dry sumps.
If you have any of these mods you will be running in the Competition event and those cars don't f**k around.
These rules will also be applied in tuff street judging. The Exhibition class has also been reviewed and will be split into two classes, Naturally aspirated and Forces induction.

very impressive numbers there but the intake temp is on the hot side which will give out a false reading.. however still very impressive

What's with 50 psi tyre pressure? Couldn't see much traction with that?

you'd think that but they say it gives you the best hp reading with tyres between 45 and 50 psi.. less driveline loss from resistance or something thats what i was told when i asked that exact Q..

dont you start that  no your correct dyno's are set up to give you your max readout i dont really take much notice of them dyno comps like big numbers it draws a croud.. but as we all know eddie is the type of guy that will race this car sooner or later.. i think with the intake temp correct (as temp changes readout ie the hotter it is the more hp) the car would be reading more around the 1400-1500hp still very impressive imo..

Street registered and street legal are 2 different things. It would have been street legal before the big modifications started happening, some how I doubt that'd be street legal.... but it is registered :)

Impressive none the less, but as protd said the intake temps are high and does increase the figures.

50psi is the norm for a dyno. Keep in mind you are pulling the car down on the rollers so there is more down force than on the street, low tyre pressures and more down force means more rolling resistance.

Too true there is a fine line I bet if they pulled him ove for a roadside inspection on an afternoon cruise he would be collecting it from an impound yard at a later date but yeah if he can do it and not kill or hurt anyone then good on him He's having fun and living his dream good on him keep the dream alive

Can't keep up with the boys adding boost to make the grade :(

I'm sure the shootout procedure is to strap your car down, then pump the tyres up which incresses the clamping force, helping traction

to true.. i pointed this out when someone else posted up the the dyno sheet on this forum a while back

there is no way in hell the air intake temps would actualy be 230degrees.. so yer obviously not a true reading... but either way still very impressive
