Yea, so I discovered today! Wish I knew that before I put in the dates. Spewing because I was keen to go down there this year after the good feedback I heard last year! Send up some fliers / posters etc and I'll pass them around.

Hey Stonie,
I was there last year as a spectator but can't remember how you run your format, ie how many rounds do you have plus the final?
Also interested in what you judge on?, what class would i be running in with my blown 4L V8 street car?

Cheers Brenton.

Hey Brenton.

Anyone can choose either to run in their class in relation to their cylinders or you can nominate in the top bracket. First place for top bracket is $2000 whilst first place for V8 bracket is $600 – so I’d be going in top. Obviously your competition will be tougher in Top though.

Judging goes on
Instant Smoke ../20
Constant Smoke ../20
Driver Control ../20
Crowd Response ../20
Blown tyres ..bonus 5 points

Each competitor gets 3 judged burnouts. Scores are added up and we get our winners.

At the end, if you’ve got leftover tyres and we are running on time we usually let you guys do some more skids for fun.

Thanks for the info Stonie.
I also had a look at your website & couldn't find any info on your next race meeting, can you supply any more info on that?

Is there anyone from Cairns looking at going down for the Swap Meet or the Burnouts that might have some room for tyres?
I might have to start looking at putting a tow bar on the Centura & getting a small box trailer to cart all these tyres

It's unavoidable for events to clash. Unfortunately that happens. This event is on the same day as the Cairns Burnouts next event but oh well that's how it goes.

Yes it certianly is a shame that they are stageing there burnout comp on the same day as Cairns ... But it works in well for Charters Towers with in beinging on the same weekend as the 33rd annual Motor Show & Swap Meet ... But with the drags there might have some flexiblity with the dates ?
