start from scratch. Delete all user profiles and just start again.

A number of long running forums also require a private email address to log a username.. no "hotmail", no "gmail" etc. this would help weed out the spammers and tossers who just get on here to stir shite under numerous different free email servers.

Track down a dedicated team of moderators that can spend a bit of time deleting posts/users for inappropriate behaviour.

as Dan said above, it comes down to time.. everyone is time poor these days, so a lot of people just can't give up the time that they have on moderating a website.

Everything on this site these days is really only in the for sale threads... other furms also have a rule where you can't post threads in the classifieds section unless you have a certain amount of posts. Another top idea.

The fact that the car scene in Cairns (not so much T'ville from what I hear) is dead as a post also doesn't help, so people are just not logging in any more as they don't support it as much as they used to.

You need 15 post to post in the classifieds. Not much to moderate on here really. Moderating takes 2 minutes a day as there are a decent amount of people who use the report button. Cruises, whatever, are good ideas, but someone needs to organise it. I've done more than my fair share over the years between cruises, drag meets, drifting, burnouts, whatever else and it's not that hard so perhaps someone else can have a crack. I don't think people are time poor, just want others to organise it and they can tag along. Doesn't take that much to organise a cruise. Only a hand full, with Naze being one, have had the initiative to organise something. I spend most of my time with the burnouts these days which is a lot harder than organising a cruise. Date, time, location and post it up. Pretty simple. That's how QSS started after all..... a cruise 5 years ago.

I know I'm only new on here, and I'm from townsville, but it'd be great to see QSS rePresentation at events (Drags etc.) and every once in a while have a 'QSS' BBQ or something, instead of Joe bloggs posting up that he is going cruising, post a thread on a free QSS event - whether it be a cruise or a sausage sizzle, I know Plenty of mates who would love to go along...

Dunno if this ties in with what you guys are thinking, but if there is any publicity stuff need to be done in Townsville let me know. I work week on/week off but when I am home, I'm more than happy to go around the local workshops and help raise interest...

I'll step off my soapbox now :/

maybe turn it in to a club. That might get more people involved and make more people passionate about the car scene in Cairns. I've Lived in Adelaide, Sydney, Perth and the car scene is great. It could be here too just need to get some level headed guys together formulate a plan and try and wake this thing up. The potential is there in Cairns..

Look I'm away a lot due to work, but if genuine people are keen to get a good family orientated club together I'll put my hand up to help out. I'm in my early 30's now with a little bloke growing up fast and plan to be hanging around for a while And I'd like to be part of a car scene again. But I don't want to be part of a young I'm going to do this and going to do that scene!!! If you know what I mean. Nothing wrong with the young crew, aslong as they are genuine enthusiasts. Time to get the right image happening. More shows, events, trades, charity work.
Who's keen???????????

there has never really been a car scene in cairns.the people who causes problems are the idiots under 25 year old in there mummys ford laser driving around like a idiots.people with imports are always full of excuses.when you want to go for a cruise is you dont want like 100 cars turning up because this attracts attention to the cops. and driving on the highway at 60k/ph.you only have a couple of friends go along for a cruise.just keep it simple.

Up until 5 or so years ago there was a car scene in cairns and it was quite strong. With you saying people with imports are always full of excuses you might want to rephrase that to say most people in the car scene regardless of what car they own are full of excuses now days, It is not just the import owners who have excuses in fact i actually find them more willing to go for a spirited drive more than anyone else but seeing as i own an import i guess i'm going to get that as they aren't worried about being ridiculed for there choice in car by me.

The car scene is that dead i doubt the cops would care, for all of those that are chicken shit cause of the cops try and mod your car legally and don't drive around on bald tires, you've only got yourself to blame the minority of the time with defects and what not.. the majority of the time the cops are still idiots who DON'T know what there looking at and you can talk your way out of it anyway.

There will be something happening in the future, I've spoken to nazt about this a couple times and the time will come but i guess when both of our fun cars are off the road it really doesn't make us in any great rush to get out there and try to revive the car scene just give it time and something will happen.

And in my personal opinion the people to blame for killing the car scene's in a lot of places around Australia are the news channels, they love that word hoon and it doesn't matter where or what we do they give us that label. A perfect example was the NQ pro burnouts part which aired on TV in which even though everything was being done legally and in a controlled environment all involved were labelled hoons instead of being called "Car Enthusiasts"

Well to be quite honest all I'm hearing right now is excuses. Its pretty disapointing when your because my car and my mates car is off the road we are not really motivated or interested. Hell I have two in the garage not doing much but I will still head out if a bunch of like minded people are interested. And just wait something will happen, well that sounds like a pollies promise after the election. Just seams to me that peoples attitude up here is all wrong. The southern states are not like that and that is why they thrive..............

I'm motivated and interested, but i see no point in spending the day on a car cruise in a car which i DONT enjoy driving, I'd rather spend it at home working on the car which i do enjoy driving.

And honestly people are more likely to show up to a cruise organised by someone who will be driving at least a half decent car instead of going to the cruise where the organiser is driving a plain old dirty mazda2 haha.. prime example of this was the whole PTL saga.

Nazt on the other hand can get away with it as his daily driver is half decent but i know he'd still rather be driving that big green tank of his.
