Cairns Auto Spectacular
September 17th & 18th

Get your entries in for the 2011 Cairns Auto Spectacular, September 17 & 18.

The Cairns Auto Spectacular is a family friendly event with things to keep the entire family happy.

This year there will be five of the best NQ burnout boys showing us what they got as well as a new time trial event open to everyone. There will also be a dyno, 4x4 competition, V8 simulator and much much more.

It'll be a good event. Advertising or not I'd suggest people head down check it out.

A time trial event, which is a first, will be awesome for entrants and spectactors and only $15 to have four runs!

4x4 event, another unique attraction.

On top of that there is the usual show cars, dyno, driving demos, go to whoa. Plenty of things to drive your own car in which is what it's all about if you ask me.

Yes NQMP and FNQ are running the sprints.
Dave Page, Me and Steve Wilbraham are the organisers.
If you want to join in call the Cairns Show people and register. You will also need to get a CTP extension from your insurer to cover you for public liability. Waivers will have to be signed on the day and car scrutineered. Cars must be registered. No thongs etc, and bring a helmet.
Number of runs depends on how many people sign up, we are expecting to have about 4 runs.
As far as I know trophies will be awarded on Sunday for the following;
under 2L
2L-3L
3L over
4WD
Classic (pre 86)
1st outright
2nd outright
3rd outright.

We will be racing from about 10.00am to 4-5.00pm

*** ATTENTION EVERYONE - JUST TO CLARIFY ***
DUE TO THE LATE NOTICE OF THE TIME TRIAL EVENT, CTP IS NOT REQUIRED TO ENTER THE EVENT THIS YEAR.
ALSO, UNREGISTERED CARS CAN ENTER THIS EVENT, PROVIDING YOU CAN LEGALLY TRANSPORT IT TO AND FROM THE SHOW AND PASS SIMPLE SRUTINEERING.

Entrants will need to sign a safety waiver before competing. Remember this is a time trial only and NOT a drift/drag/burnout event. Non compliance will result in immediate exclusion.
Sorry for any confusion on the above posts, as this is only a new concept for the auto spec and we want to ensure a smooth and safe running of the event. Next year CTP will be required.
Please post up any questions and we'll try to answer them as soon as possible. Otherwise, register your entry with the Show office and prepare for some street legal racing !!
