Don't worry your not the only one that doesn't know how to read or listen
I do listen and I do read... And if you have read all of the posts I have said I wasn't dissing the track and that I like it out there... Sure beats racing on the street...

Most of the time they make announcements people are talking around me and it is quite hard to hear what's being said anyways..

And I don't receive newsletters!

Ok sorry - On another point I was making about ANDRA there are other tracks in Australia that do not run Andra sanctioned meetings. Eg. Calder, Heathcote.
Townsville is the only one that has permanently run without andra. In the U.S there are 5 tracks the last time i looked that run outside of NHRA. Many years ago there was a huge political shit fight in NHRA so a group branched off and became IHRA. Only time will tell with the upheavals in andra if there will be another governing body in Australia. With all the private sector including racers them selves investing in tracks like WSID the ANDRA body will be in for a rude awaking there is always room in any business or sport for competition so bring on a new governing body I say, hopefully we'll then have one that listens to the racers and the owners of the facilities and the sport will then become bigger and better

Matt gets them sent to him but he doesn't really read them, and I've raced before and I haven't received any newsletters...

It doesn't phase me really because the year's practically over now..

My dad bought his FJ off Rod Heathcoate... Back in the day

As i said "interested" people. If you were keen enough you would have rung them and got on the list to get one. Anyway there were some on the counter at the canteen the last couple of street meets.

You can always get some to post the newsletter on this forum, it has been done plenty of times, also if your interested enough I'm sure you will be able to get a copy one way or another without having to make excuses, I haven't been on the mailing list for over two years and I managed to get hold of a copy each month and have a read some how manage to end up with promo posters to put up all around town each time an event comes up too funny that  Must be Dingo stuffing them under my door when he gets them

I am interested... But there's not much point as the year's pretty much over as previously stated.

I'll just hi-jack Matt's when it comes in the mail/

I can't race out there these days anyways, my car ain't going, but I like to go and watch because a few of my mates race out there and it's pretty fun.

I used to pit for Graham Pope a year or so ago... how happy I am those days are over!!!

WELL I GIVE Kimmbyann the "yeah of the day" at least she's trying to help the sport and the Dragway along keep up the good work Kimmbyann, good to see there are other people who want the place to grow and become bigger and better, If it wasn't for their efforts there would be people dying on the roads more; cars being confiscated etc So keep up the good work and long live Drag Racing, The Townsville Dragway & Kimmbyann

Copy of my posting from another topic....

King Of The Hill was awesome So many cars there it was unbelievable the quality was way up the cars were Tuff and quick, Due to the sheer number of cars the qualifing did not finish till well after 6pm, racing was late to start due to having to prepair the track and seed the racers etc, it was good to see every one - well most people were patient, with the number of competitors there it was not easy organizing it all, the Townsville Dragway did an excellent job to get the racing all over by just on midnight with so many racers to get through, it was a shame more people who had offered to help didn't bother to show up for them but that is just human nature I guess. Townsville as always put on a classic summer day HOT as hell so that mnight have had something to do with it. The heat didn't seem to affect things to much apart from the odd person with over heating problems one in particular which had forgotten to turn his electric water pump on (simple but silly mistake). In all the racing in most classes was close the quality of the street car side of things was unbelieveable the times have drop so much on previous years, and I must say the MIB did put on an excellent show - good on ya guys, The race car bracket was super close with all cars qualifying between 9.4 and 10.2 most were on the money with 9.6 / 9.7's it was superb. As for final resluts I'll leave that to the Dragway to publish, congratulations to them for an excellent meeting and to all the racers and winners on the day. Sorry to hear about FAT64 not a good story at all. There are a couple of other bad luck stories as well but I'll leave that for the Drag Racing memories topic when I get a little more time.
