The group buy is no longer running as it was too difficult for me to get everyone to pay at once.

QLDStreetScene would like to try and bring some deals to our members and support them for supporting us, so here is our first offer. Through some of my contacts I am able to get the Viper 791VX Alarm brand new for unbeatable price.

I can offere these to our members for $410 delivered each

Hmmmm, i should change mine over.... my current one is a pain in the bum....

Wouldnt installation cost an arm and a leg?

Also does insurance cover alarms with coloured wiring?

You would have to ask your insurer, I can't answer that one. Installation wouldn't be that exxy $100-$150?

I am keen on getting one myself for same reason, current alarm sucks :lol:

Bit of info for you Matt;

Shannons and Just cars require black wiring and 3 point immobilisation. These alarms will need extra immobilisers added to it. Autobarn told me that the 791X only has 2 immobilisers in it standard but extras are avaliable pretty cheaply while being installed. Also by law installers cannot hook up the remote start to manual cars.

Installation costs would range from the $200+ mark if done proffesionally.

This is an awesome alarm at a awesome price people. Autobarn do these installed and they are over $1000 you can get one of these installed for probably $600ish all up.

Thanks Noel, I can get the extra immobilisers and addons for this alarm pretty cheap also. If people are interetsed in additional immobilsers or the other addons available for this alarm just let me know and I will get prices. I know someone who can install alarms in Cairns, I am sure he can do it a fair bit cheaper than $200. He used to work for Autobarn doing their stereo installations and alarms etc.

Until we get 5 people, I can order them any time really but you can save 40 bucks each if we get 5 people to buy at once. If this is succesful I will have another one after.

Oh also, If you are in Cairns I can get them installed for around $160. I'll get anyone in contact with him if they need it.

A year is a long way, they could discontinue the product by then or anything could happen. When you're ready just let me know, I will tell you if I can still get for this price.

i used to have a non approved (coulered wires) alarm in my car. so its not gov or insurance approved. if your car gets stolen they probably wont cover you. a way around it is to install a seperate gov approved immobiliser with a black wiring harness. the way i have seen it done is to have a proximity system and you leave the proximity tag in the car. sounds strange but when you turn the car on it automatically disarms. so the 2nd system is totally useless but its acceptable for insurance companies simply because its fitted into the vehicle.

personally im a big fan off the pin code system. i no alot of guys who have had their keys stolen out of their house. some insurance companies wont pay you out if that happens. you cant use autostart if you fit one but the novelty of autostart wears off after a while. im trying to track down a particular model but i will start a new thread.
