Hey Naz l want to come in next week and open an account
l was with Pioneer Permanant BS but they were bought by BOQ so f*&k Bank of Qld
Does it look like MPBS will be there for the long run or could you end up affiliating with another bank over time?
Anyway l will be in next week to open an account and get some interst rates cause lm going to sell this house after christmas and buy another and Wizard havent been real good lately since Scott the principal moved to Townsville

umm, i'd hold off for a little bit paul... we are currently in the process of being taken over by.. you guessed it.. BOQ.. it goes to a shareholder vote this month. The board has recommended to shareholders that they accept the offer put forward.

However, Wide Bay Building Society has also put in a takeover bid for us, which is more than the BOQ offer, so who knows what's going on.

BOQ have indicated that if the takeover goes ahead, these new cairns branches will be kept operational (which they didn't do with pioneer), but who knows. If the takeover happens, it won't be until february or so next year, so you'll be with MPBS until then.

I can still help you out with anything you need, but come in and i'll let you know more about what's going on mate.

just an update for those that don't follow the business section in the paper.. Bank Of Qld has withdrawn its takeover offer for us, leaving a shareholder vote to go ahead for the takeover by Wide Bay Building Society next month.

So its business as usual until then, so if anyone needs a loan, let me know.
